Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Craig Williams is not the sort of jockey who usually rides carelessly. If anything you could usually say he was over-cautious, not under. Yesterday was the exception to the rule. Willo shifted in when not clear of the horse inside him, and caused it to get up on heels. It’s cost him 10 days […]
John Filardo is quite possibly Australia’s most unsuccessful driver. In the almost 25 years of this century Filardo’s had almost 900 drives, and won just 13 races. His record of achievement in the cart over the past 6 years is about exactly the same as famous Frankston racing identity Mandrake the Mug’s record on the punt […]
Eagle-eyed race watcher Coulthard from Coolum Beach has brought another T. Bailey stuff up to our attention, this one from race 5 at Sandown on Wednesday last week. On arrival SWIMINTHERIVER was inspected where no more than a rub mark was evident on the geldings off-side neck. Photographs were taken for ORI records. What was clear to Stewards that SWIMINTHERIVER had been […]
Shane Ciurleo used to be Ben Currie’s man. He would help choose the cheap horses that Currie filled his stable with. Ciurleo used to do the form form for the now banished trainer too. In between engagements with BM Currie he worked briefly as the bloodstock manager for AQUIS, but that relationship didn’t last long […]
