Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Enigmatic Queensland galloper Flash Aah has had more trainers than most people of had hot dinners,. Flash started his career with Jeffrey Caught, then went to Kelly Schweida, was transferred from him to Gregory Hickman in NSW, was sent back to QLD and trainer Mitch Fry, was moved from Fry to Matt Cropp, then travelled south to […]
Trainer Tom Smith, pictured with a horse he wasn’t beating As we wait for the decision of the Racing Appeals Tribunal on Rockhampton trainer Tom Smith’s appeal against his 3 month suspension for beating a young horse mercilessly for 33 minutes as he tried to force it into the Callaghan Park pool, a controversy is […]
The barrier draw has thrown the Race by Betcha wide open, with Don Hugo firming to $2.50 after drawing perfectly in gate 2 and Leap To Fame blowing to $2.30 after pulling the outside of the front row in gate 8. The Australian pair are now the the only two runners at single figures in […]

Have you ever seen anything as idiotic as this video above? Harness Racing NSW are treating us all like children, or idiots, or both. The ideas are fine, but the delivery is insulting. Sadly, HRNSW appear not to know history when it comes to pillars. Things never seem to work out well. Just ask Mrs […]
This article from Harnesslink provides much food for thought about the current NZ racing model. It’s worth a read. New Zealand is on a roll, with tremendous positivity within the harness racing industry for the first time in more than thirty years. Entain, HRNZ and the TAB are wanting more product and more racing. So […]
C’mon Mr Profit Take a good look at all the drivers in that clip. There were the best part of half a dozen drivers dropped their leg for one reason or another, probably reflex action to retain balance (editor’s note – yeah right). That’s my take on the matter. Good for one good for all. […]
Archie I did notice that the panel were into Murdoch early. Didn’t hear the QRIC KC in reply. Chairman O’Brien seems to always be critical of stewards and the charges (rightfully so). I think the charge sticks. Not sure how penalty plays out. RAP sort of brought suspended penalties undone with their handling of the […]
Well we weren’t wrong about Taylor Ford’s penalty for her drive in this race at Geelong (shown above) being strongly deserved. Judge Bowman had this to say in his decision to dismiss Ford’s appeal. To employ the meaning of the Rule, the manner in which you drove was unacceptable. You drove the horse almost relentlessly […]
Racing Victoria stewards wans the Victorian Racing Tribunal to disqualify the deeply corrupt jockey Michael Por for 20-years. As one who writes for the punter we say that it’s no-where near enough. Poy was the ringleader in the betting scandal involving himself, fellow rider Lewis German, and punter Noah Brasch. He was the one who […]
