Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The QLD Thoroughbred Racing Awards is racing’s night of nights celebrating the highest achievers in the State’s number 1 racing code and revenue attracting four-legged sport. There are nine board members of Racing QLD. Guess how many of them turned up at the awards? Three. The NSW based Chairman who came up for the night […]
What do you make of the Cloncurry races on Saturday? It is a four race non-TAB card that has 6 runners in each race, 24 in total. Four trainers prepare the 24 runners. Tanya Parry has 13. Shryn Royes 7. Toni Schofield 3. Ray Hermann 2. There will be a ton of scratchings for want […]
The news that Tevita Pangai Jr wants to return to Rugby League makes me remember back to the time when the highly talented but ill-disciplined forward walked away from the sport to become a boxer. Look how that turned out, with him being beaten into near-unconsciousness by a bloke with a career record of none […]
Racing South Australia has just announced that the name of its flagship race the Group 1 the Goodwood will from next year renamed the The McAvaney Goodwood, in honor of legendary broadcaster Bruce McAvaney. I don’t know about this. McAvaney is a legend of Australian sport who deserved his induction into the SA Racing Hall […]
https://themusic.com.au/news/kylie-minogue-afl-grand-final-biggest-spectacle-ever-seen-mcg/jxUtg4KFhIc/11-09-26 I’ve told you before that I am The Cooler, and wasn’t whistling Dixie. We told you that the 2YO Kiwi trotter Duke of Bourbon was unbeatable if it didn’t gallop. But that is was every chance of doing so. It did. 30 meters out from the line when it was home to the world. This horse will be a ripper if Scott Phelan and Barry Purdon can ever […]
It only took Bobby El-Issa four rides to land his first winner in five years at Warwick on Thursday. The hyper talented little rogue has beaten leukemia, a broken neck and the sins of his past to return to the saddle at an age (50) when most people have left it, and he done it […]
Ryan Wiggins lucky streak continued earlier this week when the QLD Racing Appeals Panel (RAP) upheld his protest against an 8-day suspension for careless riding he got at Cairns last month, and substituted it with a slap on the wrist, aka a reprimand. It was a strange decision, one in which I reckon the RAP […]
Ballard E. for the QRIC says they don’t agree with Murdoch’s submission that Duggan should get time served. Unlike Murdoch, who is a be bop jazz practitioner, Ballard E. appears to be reading word for word from a pre-prepared submission. Listening to her is extremely boring. It sounds more like a lecture than a submission. […]
Murdoch KC directs the Stewards to the decisions in the cases of Sildie Canda and Clayton Gallagher. Each got much lesser penalties than Duggan, and they were evasive and antagonistic toward Stewards, whereas Luke Duggan was cooperative throughout and made every attempt to assist Stewards to get what they wanted without him losing connectivity to […]
