Auckland Trotting Club CEO Brad Steele, the bloke formerly at the helm of Harness Racing NZ when it turned a once in a lifetime opportunity to boost the sport with Entain money into dust, has announced that the Auckland Cup will revert from a 3200m standing start race to a 2700m contest started from a mobile.
