Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Kylie is a megastar. The AFL getting her to play at the grand final is huge. You’d watch the game just to see the show. Tones and I is that Dance Monkey bird. And even for a million bucks she refuses to sing it at the NRL Grand Final. So V’Landys told her to go […]
Archie I might have to respectfully disagree over the “closing country tracks saves money” narrative, as experience shows that “decreasing the footprint” via country track closures and a reduction in meeting dates in WA, has had a catastrophic effect on numbers of licensed participants, number of owners, number of breeders, number of foals and ultimately, […]
Hey Archie A couple of ones for you to consider, firstly the Lions getting up, what a sensational game, but the behaviour of the Hawthorn supporters at the end was disgraceful and so typical of these supporters who walk around with the cock strut that says we are here to claim our god given right […]
The latest newsletter to Australian Turf Club (ATC) members from administrator Morgan Kelly reveals that the cash strapped club spent $4 million in legal fees fighting Racing NSW’s moves to put it under Kelly’s control. Four million dollars for the lawyers! Only to lose. Is it any wonder that the ATC finds itself under administration […]
Victorian harness racing is in a crisis beyond compare. Cuts to spending need to be made, and the cost of meetings rationalised. The immediate way to do it is by closing tracks. As much as traditionalists and industry stalwarts may hate the thought, it’s obvious that you need to knock out Ouyen, Boort, Birchip, Wangaratta, […]
We come from a land down under Where women punt, tip winners and plunder Can you hear, can you hear Katie and Emma thunder You better run bookies, you better take cover

However, it needed to be done! He needed to make a stand to end the constant team driving of Pete […]
Birthday boy Wayne Gannon (2nd from left), and on his right former trainer and gun singer Les Ross, Ron Johnson (the Brown Rice Man), and racehorse owner Mike Crooks. Apologies to the bloke on the left. We know his name but are having a blonde moment. A bit like Gannon I guess. A little birdie […]
See the bloke in the picture with the camera, standing just inside the running rail at about the 300 mark in race three at the Gold Coast yesterday? Who is he? And what the hell is he doing there? For a starters the bloke is far too close to the runners, close enough that is […]
Muppet is a 7-year-old thoroughbred mare who is very, very slow. Put simply, she is the best named horse in racing. An absolute muppet. Her form at her last 5 starts reads 00900, and she has been beaten on average more than 20 lengths per race. Yesterday at the Pooncarrie picnics Muppet, true to form, […]
