Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
HRV CEO Matt Isaacs doesn’t even know how to manage a microphone (see above), so how the hell can he manage building and growing the sport in the State? As far as I can see, he can’t. Isaacs only solutions to the dilemma’s facing the Victorian trots seem to be reducing the number of races, […]
I like a number of other punters on the weekend got the first three legs of the Eagle Farm quaddie right, and had the top three of Tony Gollan’s four runners going for a good collect in the last. The one Gollan horse that we/I left out was the 40-1 shot Millane, not just because […]
When you have three minutes spare take a look at the excerpt below from CEO Matt Isaacs address to Victorian harness racing industry participants at last week’s HRV annua presentation. Isaacs says that he and his HRV Chairman Bernard Saundry are meeting with the leaders of Harness Racing NSW to reshape the businesses, and says […]
Good Morning, You correctly note that WA has a minimum Metro Stake of $21,000, the highest in Australia. It is completely unsustainable and is being funded on the “never never”. Both crimes were domestic violence offences, at a time […]

Travel costs differ from state to state, but base costs of feed, rent, supplements, vets and equipment differ little. Which is why prizemoney matters so much, particularly in the main states of NSW, QLD, VIC and WA, […]

I used to think Black Caviar was the greatest sprinter I had ever seen. After what Ka Ying Rising did at Sha Tin on Sunday now I am not so sure, Sacred Kingdom set the Sha Tin track record of 1.07.50 in the year 2007, and it stood unbroken for 17 years. Until Ka Ying […]
What you see above is the race track yesterday at Bundaberg, with the photo taken by a reader who was there. The inside looks alright doesn’t it? In fact it looks a whole lot better than the middle and the outer. So how come no jockey all day wanted to go near it? That’s because […]
