Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying

Poor old Queensland jockey Dan McGillivray can’t take a trick. First he has a year where he gets more suspensions and fines for careless riding than the girls from A Touch of Class get roots on a weekend. Next he gets done for a positive swab to coke and gets outed for 7 months on […]
Excite Me is one of the weakest horses in Western Australia. It hasn’t won a race since November last year, and has managed just 3 placings from its 18 starts since. In several of those 18 starts it has led and collapsed, mainly because its a cat with the heart of a pea. Crazy gamblers […]
Take a look at the letter above that Tabcorp have sent a punter. They have banned him from punting at every TAB outlet in Australia. In pubs, clubs, agencies, shops, at racetracks of all codes, in stadiums including the MCG, online, on the phone – everywhere. He is not allowed to even enter a TAB […]
Keith From QLD did his arse on Saturday, while I was winning. So at end of the day I slung him $500 to have a bet on the trots, as he would me. That’s just what lifelong punter mates do. We’re a bit different than most people, and comfortable about it too. Keith knocked off […]

That might have been the case in the pre-salary cap days, but it ain’t anymore. The salary cap has put an end to unbeaten […]
Trainer Matt Laurie is blowing up about criticism of his star mare Treasure The Moment’s intestinal fortitude, but let me just say if she doesn’t win the Sunline Stakes on the weekend at set weights against a bunch of horses grades below her on records then Laurie should just give up and send her to […]
First Captain’s Mistress and the broken seat, and now this. Call me the cooler. I should give up the punt. But what else would I do on a Saturday? The crossword? Play bowls? Go bushwalking? F**k that. What time’s the next?
Don’t believe all the crap that the newspapers write about Mick Gatto. He is actually in my opinion a very nice, generous and genuine bloke. A man’s man. As long as you do the right thing by him, he does by you. Big Mick can tip a winner too. Sorry I wasn’t at liberty to […]
