Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
There were just three Stewards on duty at the metropolitan Eagle Farm race meeting yesterday. Chief Steward Peter Chadwick was the Chair, and he had his Deputy Chief Daniel Aurisch and A. Schofield on the panel. That’s one less than they had at both the provincial meetings at Rockhampton and the Sunshine Coast the day […]
This Stewards finding is a load of palaver. Theresachance is an old low rated NR58 pacer. They don’t run first quarters in 26.2 seconds and win races. Not now, not ever. It doesn’t matter what tactics a trainer tells a driver to adopt – once they are out there in the sulky holding the reins […]
There has been a sensational twist in the US case of PlayUp Inc v Dr Leila Mintas, the one in which the Australian corporate bookmaker Playup – which owns the old Mad Bookie, Top Betta and Classic Bet – is suing it’s former US CEO for a stack. PlayUp reckons Dr Mintas sabotaged a $450 […]
Playup have asserted to the US District Court of Nevada that it’s former CEO Dr Laila Mintas has no right to sue it, and filed a document in the court record that they claims prove it. There is a problem with their claim. The document is a blank copy. It is neither dates nor signed […]
MyRacehorse is a company with a deliciously ironic name, for no one who buys any of their shares in a yearling – they are actually units in a speculative investment trust, not shares – has their own horse at all, they share a unit in it with thousands of others. OurRacehorse would be a far […]
If you are trying to contact the author by phone or text over the next few days, don’t bother. The idiot decided to go for a celebratory dip in the Coral Sea after Flash Aah’s win in the last at Bendigo. And left his mobile in his pocket. Regular service will be resumed when the […]
This is the replay of race 2 at Mount Isa today, courtesy of On The Bit Racing, the outfit that gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for the privilege. Aren’t we getting great value for our large dollops of money. My seven-year-old grand-daughter in going to tender for the next contract. If they decide […]
John Messara and Peter V’Landy are like Alfie Langer and Kevvie. They are a team. Individual players who are great mates, and even better as a combo on the field. This is the go. Tabcorp knocked back a $3.5 billion takeover bid because its board if full of jumped up yuppie fools with big tranches […]
This is the Stewards Report from Ipswich on Thursday. That judge, N Boyle. He couldn’t be the former QRIC Steward Neil Boyle could he? The one who got stood down for months over allegations about inappropriate texts and pics? That same bloke who resigned and went to Mauritius as the island’s new Chairman of Stewards, […]
I can’t quite remember the last time I saw a drive as bad as John ‘Lurch’ Dunn’s pathetic effort on the favourite Highgrove in the main trot race at Addington last night. Highgrove was drawn the backmark of 20 metres in the massive 15 horse field, and he is a dodgy beginner at the best […]
