Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
We have written before about the incredible success of young Rockhampton trainer Nick Walsh. Now he has done even better. With his winners at Rockhampton on Sunday and at Thangool yesterday Walsh has surpassed his previous record, and lifted his already amazing strike rate beyond the 50% mark for the season. Walsh has now trained […]
The Rockhampton Jockey Club completed construction of 2 on-course horse stabling complexes last year. These stables were built with money provided courtesy of a Racing Queensland grant. It is rumored that the successful tender bidder for the project submitted their quote about a week after the tenders had closed. The whisper is that the winning […]
190. (1) A horse shall be presented for a race free of prohibited substances. (2) If a horse is presented for a race otherwise than in accordance with sub-rule (1) the trainer of the horse is guilty of an offence. (3) If a person is left in charge of a horse and the horse is […]
Ben Yole has 6 runners in the last race at Shepparton yesterday. There are only 9 in the race so he’s got 66% of the field. Strangely – or not as it turns out – his Victorian no2 driver and stable employee Taylor Youl doesn’t drive any of them. Yole’s runner Got The Goods is […]
Kerry Ann Morris threw 2 positive swabs to the prohibited substance Levamisole in December 2020. That is two years and five months ago. The inquiry into the matter is still open, and has never been heard. Jack Trainor threw a positive swab to the same drug in March 2021, two years and two months ago. […]
The man who determines the NSW harness race swabbing regime – Integrity Manager Michael Prentice – needs to explain to the public how horses are being selected for pre-race swabs, because the current regime is just ridiculous. Take a look at Menangle yesterday for proof. In race 2 Kerry Ann Morris has a $1.70 favorite […]
It seems that having a dig was all the rage on the weekend from what I hear. They say a bit of a verbal blew up at the Brisbane races between a jock with the initials Damien Thornton and another with the initials Jaden Lloyd. It may or may not have had something to do […]
The word out of the Gold Coast is that Ryan Wiggins has got a new nickname. Sandwich they call him. A cut lunch. I thought it was Sandcastles the first time I heard it. But I guess I was wrong. By the way, are they bruises you can see prominently on R. Wiggins scone this […]
Take a look at this. It’s the first race at the TAB meeting at Barcaldine on Saturday. Watch the rider of the horse in front, and ignore the fact that she is an apprentice, for this wasn’t rider error, it was deliberate. What is that jock looking back for? One guess and one clue. Here […]
Being the subject of a major race fixing investigation hasn’t slowed Ben Yole’s cheating down one bit. In fact it has done is ramped it up even more, to full throttle. I am not sure if it is because Yole is arrogant enough to imagine he’s going to sail out of this unscathed, or whether […]
