Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
I used to thing trainer Mick Stanley was one of the good guys, but after the win of his 3-year-old Sao Paolo Simba at Menangle today I am no longer sure. Sao Paolo Simba had raced 11 times coming into today’s race and won 4 and placed 3. He had raced at Menangle 5 times […]
It’s Saturday night at the Creek, race seven. Angus Garrard is driving number 1 Sista Sammy NZ, the horse behind the leader with the white wheels. How many marker pegs does he run over or hit? I count at least five or six. He went inside 4 or 5 before that too (see pictures below). […]
Gaita Pullicino got a bit keen on the horse outside of the leader here didn’t she? I lost track of how many times she broke the whip rule from the home turn on. It was like watching one of those old races at the Showgrounds. Me thinks Aunty Gaita is going for a spell. The […]
It appears that we may not have heard the last of the doctored Health Assessment Report scandal yet. The mail is that up to a dozen jockeys are going to be charged for submitting bodged up reports, including at least one big name rider. A person in addition to Jeff McKay is said to have […]
Luke Anderson was a stable hand aged in his early 20’s. He’d been one since he was 17. Working in and around racing probably wasn’t the wisest choice of career for the bloke. You see Anderson was a gambling addict. A pulsie (as in compulsive gambler); a punt junkie; a desperate; a broker. He used […]

Getting a long odds-on favorite beaten at Albion Park is easy. You don’t have to dope it, or tinker with the gear, or even pull it up. All you have to do is park it in the death. Outside of the leader without any cover. That will do it almost every time. Darrin went out […]
After the result on Saturday night Harness Racing NSW might want to perhaps consider renaming The Eureka, and call it The Emma instead. It would be a fitting title for the race that Stewart has dominated in the three years it has been held. She won the first running of the Eureka with Encipher, and […]
What’s going on with all these horses formerly trained by Brett Cavanough out at disqualified participant Todd Austin’s property at Barcaldine? At least three of the Cavanough horses – two of them part-owned by Austin’s wife Toni – have been transferred according to Racing Australia’s records, but to who? The records don’t show the horses […]
The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) has observed a noticeable increase in reports of poor behaviour through its Report Something hotline. Much of this misconduct occurs between participants themselves, though incidents involving poor behaviour toward non-racing individuals have also been recorded. The range of negative behaviours includes intimidation, verbal abuse, and social bullying, all of […]
