Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
It must be bad if they are doing surgery straight away……..less severe fractures in horses and humans they stabilise, let the swelling subside, and do surgery during business hours……. SUPERSTAR mare and inaugural TAB Eureka winner Encipher is having emergency surgery today after breaking a pastern during her first-up win in the Group 2 Ladyship […]
Illavabubbles was a relatively ordinary performed mare that had won 7 races from 42 starts in New Zealand and QLD, and had run a fastest winning time of 1.56.3 on the fast track at Albion Park (record 1.49.2) before it was sent down south to get the magic from Jason Grimson. That means that the […]
The one time smart provincial NSW pacer Flare Up won 9 of its first 16 starts under the care of trainer Darren Elder when driven by his now disqualified drug cheating son Brad, the most recent of them 17 months ago in September 2o22. Ever since B. Elder threw three positive swabs to Levamisole late […]
Coming into yesterday’s Randwick meeting Newcastle based trainer Scott Aspery had only won 8 races in the previous 2 1/2 years, and only one in the city. Fortunately that win was in a Midway worth $55 000 to the winner last year. Still and all, it’s been a hard way to eke out a living […]
Horses swabbed pre-race TOO MUCH CLASS, NOAH ‘N’ A DEEL, SO DAPPER, ESSONNE (NZ), HOLLYWOOD NORTH, RENOUF. Horses swabbed post-race All winners, JETTY. This is Chad Ormsby, former bull rider and jockey turned trainer of Master Fay, the winner of the 2nd on the card at the Karaka Million race day at Ellerslie yesterday. Ormsby looks exactly like he just stepped out of a Coen Brothers or Quentin Tarantino movie in his mirrored shades and cowboy hat. If […]
You know that old demon your dad used to warn you about as a kid, the Quaddie Killer? It’s alive and well and appeared from the death dressed as Murphy’s Delight at Albion Park in the 1st leg on Saturday night. $151.00 rank outsider the horse started at when he did it the hard way […]
Star mare Encipher, winner of last year’s Eureka, resumed from a spell with a tough win in last night’s $75 000 Ladyship Cup at Melton, but there appear to have been problems post-race and she’s now been stood down from racing pending production of a veterinary clearance certificate. I’m not sure why, because nothing was […]
NZ Horse of the Year Sharp N Smart has had some issues over the past six months or so, but on the evidence of his 2nd-up run in the Aotearoa Classic yesterday at Auckland, the great horse looks like he may be roaring back to life. Sharp N Smart only finished 6th and was beaten […]
