Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Archie Just got back from the Jundah Camels. At the start of Race 1 a old battler came over with a board with 200 squares on it numbered 1 to 200. “I’m raising money for Shane McGovern’s partner” he said. “Square numbers $10 each and you win a gorilla if your numbers drawn”. “Give me […]
Rugby league writer Dean Ritchie has this morning named his best all-time State of Origin team (above). I reckon he has got it mighty wrong, just as New South Welshman always do. Here is my team. I would back them to beat Ritchie’s any day of the week. ——————————————— 1. Billy Slater 2. Jarryd Hayne […]
Ikigai is a trotter who had broken into a gallop at 10 of its previous 14 starts coming into Saturday night’s first round heat of ID26. She should never have been allowed to start in the series, because the horse is a danger to other runners. In the heat he again busted up at the […]
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow Some smarties are saying that prominent Victorian bookmaker Lay Off McLachlan is contemplating registering a business called the Sally Snow Fab Club, with him as the Chairman. You haven’t seen him at the track yet. You don’t know his name. But he is a Monty to win the 2027 Golden Slipper. Laugh you might right now. Just remember that you heard it here first.

Captain’s Mistress brains them in the Rising Sun and runs a mile rate of 1.50.3. Leap To Fame holds the track record for the 2138m distance at 1.51.0. Or did until a few minutes ago anyway. Not anymore. Grimson’s mare is better than Larry? Puh-lease. Get out of here. How does that happen? I don’t […]
Word filtering through from the 2 day Oak Park picnic meeting is that a number of licensed participants had a very big Friday night, not the least of whom was jockey Amanda Thomson, who they say got a bit fired up on the jungle juice and ended up in an altercation or two. Someone should […]
