Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Nobody knows Albion Park better than Dixon and he concedes barrier eight – inside the back row – makes things very tricky over the short 1660m distance. “It takes a lot of things out of your own hands,” Dixon said. “It’s too short a race to drag right back and get away from the inside, […]
I am not suggesting that 21-year-old reinsman Lucas Rando drove the even money favorite Gandalf dead in the 4th race at Newcastle last, or that his steer night was anything other than above board. I am sure that it was. But if you ever wanted to show someone how to drive a horse to get […]
… except when he’s marching straight ahead to the Stewards room The mail out of Newcastle is that Emilio Rosati, the owner of the pacer Destiny Stride that went down at $1.35 last night while carried a $300 000 bet on its back, was far from impressed with the contribution of some of the other […]
Once upon a time the jockeys who rode in central Queensland lived in central QLD, but a combination of cheap air fares and a diminishing pool of riders in the country changed all that. Now days a large bulk of the jockeys riding in the region are mercenaries from Brisbane or one of the coasts, […]

There is hot but unconfirmed rumor floating out of Addington that Steele is having second thoughts about accepting the position. According […]
If you had been silly enough to take the $1.35 about Aquaholic in the 2-year-old Maiden at Ipswich yesterday you would have started feeling nauseous at the 1000 metre mark when he started pulling his head off, and become more and more ill with every metre further the race went. Aquaholic pulled it self into […]
Grant Dixon this week told Adam Hamilton that he is going to ride the rail on Leap To Fame from the inside of the 2nd-row draw on Saturday night and drive for luck, hoping that a gap opens up after the start that allows him to slip off the fence into the line. Dixon claims […]
