Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Veteran QLD trot trainer Al Barnes has been disqualified for 4 months for assaulting the driver of his horse Mullum Judy after it raced at Marburg last month. The crazy thing about it is that the victim was his son! Brendan Barnes drove the horse for his Dad, who obviously got angry about something to […]
Hi Archie, Chester and I were only saying the other day, over a Lamington and a Cuppa in the members at Pinjarra Trots, how long is it since we have seen a good old fashioned plunge, drug assisted or clean as a whistle, you know, all hands on deck, helping a battler get the cash? […]
Personally Archie I find it a bit rich that poor old gaita can’t cop a fresh start in SA. She’s assaulted only a few who others would like to smack, injected the ones who weren’t performing to her liking and god knows what else, but Gaita’s a good old fashioned little Aussie battler who deserves […]
I think I might have seen a good horse at Melton on Thursday, and it’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. Thesting it’s called, all one word. A two-year old bay colt. By Sweet Lou out of a Holmes Hanover mare. Trained by John Yeomans, a canny 83-year-old who doesn’t ever have huge numbers, but […]

Ted said that: Its interesting that […]
You see some bullshit claims in your life when you are as old as I am and have spent your whole life at the track, but this statement of supposed facts about racehorse ownership put out yesterday by Tom Magnier takes the cake. Magnier claims that 1 in every 201 Australians owns a share in […]
The top ten richest races in Australia list tells a story. Sydney hosts six of them. The Everest, Golden Eagle, King Charles III, Golden Slipper, Queen Elizabeth and Doncaster. (Note that 2 of them are named after foreign based monarch, 2 after gold, one after a mountain in Nepal, and the other after a racecourse […]
Here is a little Xmas gift for Peter McMullen and Chantal Turpin. A six horse race where they have five of the runners, and the other one is classes below most of theirs. Why does there need to be a 3-Year-Old race programmed on the third last Saturday of the season anyway? These horses are […]
Albion Park’s new starting method – walk up starts behind the clerk The trot Stewarding circus rolled on at Albion Park on Saturday night, and this time it featured a comedy act. Race starter Mr J. Suli pushed the wrong button as he released the field in Race 6. Suli turned the red light on […]
