Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Northview Hustler is an 8-year-old Open Class pacer who coming into Friday’s return to Albion Park after the floods meeting had won ten races in Australia. Eight have them had been when he had led, and the other two had come when he sat behind the leader and used the sprint lane. He had never, […]
Ben ‘Chainsaw’ Yole won 4 of the 8 races at the Hobart trots last night. It was no surprise given that he trained more than 2/3rds of the runners on the card. How the hell could a half-smart punter possibly have a bet on a program like this? It’s ripe for race fixing, and race […]
Everyone’s talking about Glen Boss’s announcement that he’s becoming a trot driver. “I want to win the Hunters Cup” Bossy told Adam Hamilton with a straight face, clearly ignorant of the fact that it’s called the Hunter Cup. Kate Gath played along too, perhaps a bit too far. Bossy was filmed driving one of her […]
Are the Harness Racing Victoria Stewards for real? A Kiwi pacer having its first start for Alex Ashwood rears and the start and falls, crashing heavily to the ground. The vet inspects the horse and declares it unfit to run. While he is removing the harness from the horse Ashwood – a coward with well […]
Friday night is Alexandra Park’s big night, the main metropolitan meeting of the week; the showcase if you will. That’s what makes this so bad. There are just six races on tonight’s card. Three are them are for trotters: one for maidens, one for horses that have won only 1 race, and the other for […]
The company sponsoring the Wagga Cup is called CLEANAWAY, not CLEANWAY. I guess the new Canadian CEO is confused. It’s probably got something to with being an anti-vaxxer. That or the club’s withdrawal of refreshments for trainers and drivers on race days. Oh well, at least their won’t be much rubbish for the sponsors to […]
These are the owners of pacers trained by animal abuser Ben ‘Chainsaw’ Yole that raced at Launceston on Sunday the 27th of March 2022. They should all be ashamed of themselves. Aaron Bain South Australian horse trainer, businessman and harness racing media personality. In partnership with Summit Bloodstock as Australia’s leading owner. Andrew Stuart Rangiora […]
Question: What the hell is going on in South Australian harness racing? Answer: Everything. It’s a free for all, and I don’t mean the class of the race. Now they are even allowing drivers to turn around and punch rival runners in the head. The reinsman you see in the picture with his fist cocked […]
Not a day goes by when there isn’t a hot race at Globe Derby, so the only surprise about there being another one on Monday would have been if there wasn’t. That’s what terribly low prize money and the need for cash to feed your horses does to a sport. Monday’s red hot one was […]
Heez Our Perseus started at the prohibitive odds of $1.05 in the 2nd race at Gloucester Park on Friday night. Gary Hall Jr slaughtered it. It was a master class in how to get a long odds on favourite beaten, sheer genius in fact. The WA Stewards deemed that he was just unlucky, and blamed […]
