Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Have it win and place. Doubles, trebles and all four. You can’t go wrong. And you won’t. The Kiwi form eats the Australian. And neither Legarto or Prowess will be running in the Oaks. Even if they did they wouldn’t get the distance down a well. Savacat will run the 12 furlongs on her ear, […]
A few weeks ago the NZ Oaks looked a foregone conclusion, with the super smart filly Prowess winning it. Trainer Roger James thought his girl was so good that he put her in the Derby too, and the odds makers made her a close 2nd favorite to the champion Sharp N Smart. Then five days […]
It’s not often we share the same space these days. Had enough of that in our early days, but fate did just that last night. Archie made a pit stop on his way to the Apple Isle for the wedding of his good friends Steve and Chelsea. And I was in Melbourne for a court […]
Did you see the flucs on race 5 at Cranbourne? You’re a bloody idiot if you didn’t. But hey Cracker, I’m just a mug. So is ‘Honest’ Robert Walters. That lawyer bloke standing in front of you yelling out “Ben Yole and his Henchman are C**ts” wasn’t kidding Honest Rob. You know, the fella shouting […]
If there is, I haven’t found it yet. Neither has Chelsea, the owner of the winner. What a shame she’s marrying my mate Steve this weekend. And is madly in love with him. Bugger. Oh well, a five figure win softens the blow. What was that about Archie Butterfly being a mug Cracker? How much […]

It used to boom out at loud volume, particularly around the stand of rails bookie Lindsay Gallagher (more on him soon). Certain Melbourne bookies who ended up […]
It’s not easy to beat Lloyd Williams. Frank Hudson did. Good bookies never lose, or not in the long run anyway. Not on the book anyway. Cards are different story. He doesn’t know it yet, but I am taking Frank on in a quite probably weekend long game of 7 card stud starting Friday night […]
The huge money is on. Triple Eight has been the subject of a plunge of a magnitude not seen since the last race at Perry Barr BAGS (greyhounds) at 3.10am this morning. Someone had $12 a win on it. Then another had $18 on. A third jumped in throw $10 on. $40 a win all […]
So one night – or should I say early one morning, for the witching hour had come and gone – this sports punt junkie with more money than sense is still up betting like a lunatic in units of between $4736 – $10 000 on in-play match options in a Chelsea v West Brom Premier […]
