Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Have you ever seen a grown man cry? You would have if you were at Darrel Graham’s place last night when daughter Brittany was interviewed outside the Stewards room as the true realisation that Majestic Harry had made the Inter Dominion Grand Final washed across, and tears gushed from her shining eyes. Her Dad cried […]

It’s not the stuff on the label. It’s better. Coming into last night’s final round of ID22 heats the track record at Geelong for the 2570m journey was 1.56.5. Act Now came out in the 2nd heat and obliterated it. The Tonkin trained 4YO ran 1.54.9, a full 1.5 seconds or 20m faster than any […]
GEELONG Race 3 no 2 – Bolt For Brilliance Best trotter in this series by ten lengths. Wins this and the final on its ear. A certainty. Race 4 no 7 – Queen Elida Another certainty. Will pick Mufasa Metro up and carry it. Race 6 no 1 – Torrid Saint Up against the big […]
The 12Y0 veteran galloper Hard Stride stepped out in the Country Stampede at Doomben today. I’m not sure if the horse has got a penchant for Diana Ross hit songs or whether his trainer was just confused, but the one thing I do know is that the QRIC Stewards aren’t doing their job very well. […]
SYDNEY Race 8 no 6 – Shaquero He is one of the most frustrating horses in the world this bloke. Has a world of ability on his day, but catching him can be very difficult. Having said that, this race is weak and he looks well in at the weights. With Berry on board today […]
Murdoch KC and the Sunshine Band – his client Todd Austin and patrons – have been going after Mt Isa bookie Graham Saunders at the jigger inquiry, accusing him of funding Ric McMahon’s legal defence, with the obvious objective being to shift blame for the jigger use away from Austin and solely onto McMahon and […]
We are at Wangaratta yesterday, and we are looking at race 6. It’s an apprentice’s race, the last sort of thing you’d suspect of being run hot. Which, when you think about it, is the ideal one. Low paid apprentices keen for a flash car and a jet ski like the grade above them. Wildly […]
What you are seeing at the top is the start. Thomas Stockdale – who I suggest is the leader of the pack in all this – comes flying across on the horse in red and blue. Matthew Chadwick – a definite co-offender- lets him go. They both let the horse in the grey ridden by […]
Then one Le Blanc’s horse gets the spot, Chadwick and Stockdale look at each other. Chadwick is also looking back at Le Blanc. Soon you will know why.
