Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
One of NZ trainer Rochelle Lockett’s horses threw a positive swab to methamphetamine – speed or ice – at a recent meeting of the Otaki-Maori Jockey Club (which is a damn fine club with a real good track). No-one is suggesting that Ms Lockett gave the horse meth, or that she has anything to do […]
The Graham family spot your author strolling down the garden path (Linda is taking the picture) In 1991, Darrel Graham won the Australian Young Drivers Championship when the series was staged in Tasmania. http://www.harness.org.au/media-room/news-article/?news_id=33413 Jesus H. Christ. Darrel Graham and I are the same age. We from time to time played footy against each other, […]
There have been eleven applications for an Internal Review (appeals) determined by the QRIC’s ‘independent’ reviewer this year. 10 out of the 11 appeals against penalty have been rejected. That damn Sharlee Hoffman (formerly D’Avila, much to her chagrin) had to go and spoil the Stewards perfect score. Good. She was innocent anyway. I’m not […]
Not all that long ago the drainage at the Ipswich race track was that bad that if a pensioner with a leaky bladder peed on the track they immediately call the race meeting off for fear the jockeys and horses would drown. Yesterday it absolutely pissed down, so much so that the track was downgraded […]
Dani Hill is South Australia’s leading trot driver. She is also a match fixing cheat. If you don’t realise that by now you ain’t looking. Just in case you have just found your glasses after they have been lost for a couple of years though, here is another reminder. D. Hill drove the odds on […]
There are some very disturbing rumours floating across the ditch that suggest that New Zealand might wake up this morning to an announcement that the Prime Minister Jacinda Arden will be resigning from her position. I have no idea whether what we’ve been told is true or false – I suspect the latter – only […]
How does this Stewards report from the Newcastle Mile make any sense? Luke McCarthy is questioned about the sub-standard performance of the superstar pacer Expensive Ego, the Miracle Mile runner-up and first past the post in Inter Dominion 2021 before he lost it on protest. He tells the stipes that the tempo didn’t suit, particularly […]
Ever heard of false advertising? There is no place dividend in four horse races. Tabcorp are geniuses aren’t they? The sooner the company is sold the better.
What you see above are the Victorian TAB win pools on the Queensland gallops meetings held on the turf last Wednesday at Doomben (in the blue) and for the meeting held this Wednesday on the poly track at the Sunshine Coast (in the orange). The difference is stark, isn’t it? It is vividly clear that […]
There are only 34 scratchings at the Sunshine Coast today. Gee that poly track is a good idea. The trainers love it. Race 1: 1 CRACKING THUNDER (23/2 0724) 3 LEORED (23/2 0702) Race 2: 2 DRAGON CLAWS (23/2 0822) 4 HOME OF GOOLAGONG (23/2 0818) 5 KABOOM (23/2 0828) 11 TRIPLE CITIZEN (23/2 0725) 14 TINA SEBRINA (22/2 1859) Race 3: […]
