Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Speaking of Alex ‘The Juice’ Ashwood, there he was in Tasmania on the weekend too, smack bang in the middle on another episode of the popular reality TV program ‘Circus Days – the Crisis in Australian Stewarding’. The Juice is the part-owner of a pacer named Tactile Sensation, one of many horses that he owns […]
This is what I found on the Wagga Harness Club’s Facebook page today when I went to have a look at it researching an intended story about the inaugural Dachshund Dash family event that the club is running on Saturday night to raise funds for a worthy local animal rescue charity. What on earth is […]
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Stewards today concluded an inquiry into outstanding Police charges brought against Mr David Reynolds. Stewards took submissions from Mr Reynolds as well as his solicitor in relation to the nature and specifics of the charges and after considering all the evidence and the situation in its entirety Stewards, acting under […]
It appears from the news filtering in that Nathan Day’s disqualification definitely relates to cash sums passed by the jockey to the Clerk of the Scales, former jockey Wally Welburn, and the track manager cum starter Trent Williams. The transactions were apparently caught on CCTV cameras that had recently been installed in the weigh in […]

(4) If a rider breaches subrule (3), the rider’s horse may be disqualified from that race unless that contact was justified by extraordinary circumstances. Does anyone remember this rule? They used to enforce it one, a long, long time ago. These days it is totally ignored. Jockeys come back to scale after a win and […]
Clayton ‘Crayons’ Warren is the best Steward this side of somewhere, although I am not sure where. Probably Muckadilla Siding. There were four clerical errors in six races at Toowoomba on Saturday night. They were announced via on-course semaphore address, although nobody heard it because no-one was there. Crayons put it up on social media […]
Racing writer Ray Thomas declared that Anamoe was on the verge of being a champion after his romp in the Rosehill Guineas last weekend. It was a huge call about a horse who had won just his third Group 1, each of them in age restricted company. We are about to find out whether Ray […]
1. Four horses have won the Queen Elizabeth Stakes three times. Winx is one of them. Name two of the three others. 2. What was the Queen Elizabeth Stakes called before they changed the name? 3. Over what distance was it originally run? 4. Three horses have won the TJ Smith twice or more. Who […]
See number 5 there? It’s not the horse that it supposed to be. The word is that South Australian police officers were at Globe Derby Park yesterday checking on the systems and checks and balance in regard to their ongoing investigation into the Shane Loone runners ring-in a couple of months ago. While the police […]
