Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Wouldn’t you be upset if you had backed Candy Raider in the 6th race at Toowoomba on Saturday night. It had led, been passed, and kicked back, and looked the winner. Just as it did and the punters who backed it started counting the cash, Candy Raider broke its leg, or it looked like it […]
The way the fallout from Ray Murrihy’s damning findings about Ben Yole being a doper, a race fixer, and an animal abuser is being handled is like watching a circus. Neither the Tassie government, nor the Office of Racing Integrity or the Racing Director gave the principal racing authority TasRacing a copy of Murrihy’s findings […]
It’s hard not to be enthralled by the Boys Get Paid movement, which peaked with a public betting syndicate that had a starting pool in excess of $1.2 million at Ellerslie on Saturday. They turned over $1,908,323 which contributed to an all-time TAB record meeting turnover of $9.5 million (on just six races). Had Legarto […]
If sand grooving the track was an approved part of return to racing plan for Aquis Park, then why did the Gold Coast Turf Club schedule a race meeting on the turf in the middle of the schedule. It doesn’t make any sense does it? I f you are working to a plan then surely […]
Congratulations my friend, Ben Yole is gone and good riddance. What a grub, liar, cheat and, worst of all, animal killer. I have known you for a long time Archie, and I recommended that you give up on him because of the death threats, abuse to your family, and you constantly being harassed, but you […]
Journeyman heavyweight jockey Paul Hamblin went to the Sunshine Coast last night to ride three horses and pick up a guaranteed 660 bucks and hopefully more, which for him was a pretty good earn. It damn near cost him his life. Hamblin was trying to steer a passage through the rail on Endless Mystery in […]
Archie Just a personal opinion, but out of all the drivers in on this Ben Yole fix do we really think it’s fair to consider punishing Corey Bell, when he is the only person capable of putting a stop to the Yole nightmare having witnessed both concentration camps Yole’s in Tasmania and Yole/Walters in Victoria, […]
Larrikin trot trainer Tony Peacock has had to hurdle a few obstacles in recent years. Broken necks, fires, floods, legal battles, dissolved partnerships – you name it, Peacock had to deal with it, and it’s been tough. He’s tougher though. They couldn’t knock Azuma Nelson’s great mate down in the ring when he was in […]
The House is the junior driver Wilson House. He’s in the death seat as the film rolls. The Horse is the one directly behind him. It’s name is Caulfield. I wonder if it has a sore head tonight? By the way, the Kiwi stewards missed it completely. It didn’t even get a mention in their […]
Just another way to do your money on an odds-on pop. He finished 4th, so stewards had to declare him a starter. pic.twitter.com/czjStl5sYd — The Leg Up Australia (@TheLegUpAus) February 2, 2024
