Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
What a horse. What a drive. What a win. Merlin is a superstar. We told you he was before his first ever start. And guess what? We were right. His win in the Race By Grins tonight was absolutely outstanding. Merlin has just broken Ultimate Sniper’s 5-year held NZ record over 2200m by 3/10th’s of […]
Since when did the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club run the Rockhampton Dogs? I am sure President Les Bein and CEO Luke Gatehouse will be surprised to find that out. They have back up lure drivers at Albion Park I believe. QRIC can’t even get it right when they’re wrong. Geniuses they are.
The Race By Grins is on tonight, and it is an absolute cracker. This 11 horse field has won $7.5 million in stakes and a multitude of Group races between them. With the exception of Leap to Fame who has stayed at home they are the best pacers on offer on either side of the […]
We told you before the 8th race at the Rockhampton dogs on Wednesday night that the meeting would be abandoned because the casual lure driver had been called into work at his main job in the mines after others rang in sick. It seems of course that we were spot on. This leaves three questions […]
Breaking news out of Launceston is that Ben Yole and others (presumably his brother and the Ford brothers) have lost their substantive appeal against being warned off from all racetracks. We are told that TasRacing will be reissuing the warning off notices against the four on Monday, meaning if the mail is right that after […]
So Robbie Waterhouse’s great-great-great grandson Thomas Jr fought Flash Bourke about a century before the infamous bookie married to Gai was born did he? Apparently so according to the article that Robbie proudly posted on Twitter yesterday. It’s often been said that the Waterhouse’s are freaks of nature. Now it appears that it’s been proven. […]
Congratulations Cambridge Well that’s what I say, for the production of the two brilliant fields they have this Friday. I don’t really who care who thought of putting these races on, who the slot holders are or sponsors them either. Sure it takes a bucket load of dollars but if you want the best you […]
Re: your story about the last race at Cairns on Tuesday. You’re an idiot Archie. Nathan Day lives in Cairns. He is 5 rides back from a collarbone/shoulder type injury. He is limited to a certain amount of rides until back to full fitness. N Day coming back from injury is naturally heavy IVO 60kg. […]
Archie Take a look at this NZ import Aardies Express. It’s a high class pacer with 13 wins from 18 at home. At its first Australian trial for new trainer Jack Trainor last week however it crabbed around and looked as sore as Joe Frazier after going 14 rounds with Ali. https://www-harness-org-au.akamaized.net/nsw/MEQ03042401.mp4 This week – […]
Look at the clods being thrown up on a StrathAyr track rated a Good 4. You’d have to be kidding, this isn’t supposed to happen. New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing and Auckland Thoroughbred Racing – a body created by the amalgamation of the Auckland Racing Club with the Counties Racing Club – spent almost $55 million […]
