Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
I know the 7-year-old pacer King Kulafu well, as one of my mates used to own the pacer King Kulafu and another used to train it. The horse was a dog. It would pull, hang, gallop randomly during races, and turn it up in weak events that it was entitled to win. My mate gave […]
Others can say things about Pat Duff better than me. So I will just add three lines. Our Cavalier was his best horse. Pat was a man who did things for others. And that’s the best kind.
The dream team are back – Trainer John and driver Brent Livingstone, aka Hot And Dangerous (Owner Clint’s the And) Who needs Jason Grimson and his steroid pumped muscles and tatts, when you can have Johnny Livingstone and his coke bottle glasses instead? Livingstone showed the world how its done with ex-Grimson trained horses when […]
The Wolf Signs Divided Open Pace at Albion Park doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a really really interesting little pace, mainly because it acts as a litmus test about whether any trainer can get a horse going again after Jason Grimson has had it and it has left his care. Many have tried and […]
Major Mal is a 7-year-old pace who until tonight hadn’t won a race in its past 39 starts, with his winless drought extending for almost two years. Archie Mark Purdon confirms his genius by providing the ultimate “blood booster” for Oscar Bonavena on race day….. A good old fashioned root !!!! Pure genius !!!! Gray from Golden Bay Editors note: Gray is referring to Oscar Bonavena standing at stud this spring while he is still racing. It is a very clever idea […]
Emma Stewart won 3 of the 4 Breeders Crown pacing finals on Saturday night. She trained 1st, 2nd and 3rd in one of them, and 1st and 3rd in another. Had Stewart done this last year she would have collected $524 000 in stakes. This year due to prizemoney cuts she only took home $234 […]
On the topic of Jason Grimson, a reader has corrected us about his ability to educate and train juvenile pacers to success by reminding us of the deeds of Dont Think Twice, the pacer that first put him on the map. Trained throughout its career by Grimson, Don’t Think Twice won 16 races from 34 […]
Many of his close friends and supporters are openly vaunting Jason Grimson as the greatest trot trainer of all time, but this mob need to take a chill pill with a cup of tea and have a lie down. All credit to Grimson for his great training performance in getting Swayzee to back up to […]
