Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
How on earth did the starter let the first at Melton on Saturday night go? It was clear that the horses on the back line were not up on the mobile, and were thus denied a fair start. Anyone could see it, except the starter. All three on the back row were declared non-runners by […]
A lot of people are question the photo decision in Don Hugo’s race at Menangle on Saturday night, and I must admit on the night I was one of them. The outside horse with the momentum usually gets the close decisions in the photos there, and I thought Nyack had. But I had forgotten […]
We were right about the QRIC v QLD Racing Appeals Tribunal appeal of the Chad Schofield penalty decision, made by way of a Judicial Review of the decision by the Supreme Court, falling the Appeals Panel’s way. It’s just a shame we couldn’t get a price. The decision is one of interest to a lot […]
One of the more interesting racing cases this year comes to its climax tomorrow when the Supreme Court of QLD hands down its decision on the QRIC’s application for judicial review of the QLD Racing Appeals Panel decision in the case of a 13 day suspension handed down to Chad Schofield in January last year. There was a protest 2nd v 1st in the 4th race at Bundaberg today. The inside was the winner. The outside lodged the objection, interference over the last 100m. Stewards dismissed it. It’s hard to tell from the side angle, and we don’t get a head on, but those at the track watching them front […]

Jane Howlett has been outspoken in defense of harness racing, mainly on the side of the crooks, Ben Yole in particular. Whether […]
There is something decidedly queer about Ipswich. It looks alright but it gives off this smell, or this feeling to be more correct. A feeling that the joint just ain’t no good. As long as the horses and people could be safely evacuated, and relocated to some place like Calliope or Taroom, I reckon it […]
Former harness racing identity Ben Sarina (pictured above) – currently warned off indefinitely, because only rapists, murderers and terrorists get minimum terms on their sentences – has won his appeal against a second disqualification imposed on him for his conduct in a private dispute between he and a then former Steward that culminated in an […]
Peter Profit is most certainly above average, just as the betting market said. Evens ($2.00) into $1.35 it was. It was never in danger. Plunge landed. Happy days.
The Naked Tipster has chimed in with a supplementary bed bet for the morning. Australia’s horse racing mad favorite tipster has three other main passions in life and punting and Monty, her beautiful looking yearling by Extreme Warrior. Sex, sport and the great nation of Australia. But she is no fan of septic tanks. […]
