Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The lights have gone out at the 600m mark at Redcliffe 5 minutes before the 2nd race. The meeting has been put back almost an hour as they wait for an electrician to arrive. Sky channel schedules have been severely disrupted. Punters who have invested on the 1st race have their money locked up for […]
Longfellow was a promising looking pacer in the early part of his career under the care of Todd Rattray in Tasmania, but he never for a second looked like a Derby or Inter Dominion sort of horse. He had 12 starts for Rattray for just one win by 1.1 metres over a 9 start maiden, […]
New Zealand trainer Graeme Telfer’s stables were raided by Stewards employed by the Racing Integrity Board. They discovered in his possession a galvanised steel pipe with a portion of barbed wire coiled around a section of the pipe and secured by electrical tape, with a short leather strap attached to the opposite end. It was […]
On the weekend we wrote a story about Jack Trainor pulling a rort in the last at Menangle. The guts of that story was in our opinion true and correct. However the references we made to a bookmaker named Steve Single being involved were not correct at all. In particular the inferences that we may […]
All the attention in the Eureka is being paid to Kevin and Kay Seymour’s wonderful stallion Leap To Fame, but almost none of the attention is being focused on the Seymour’s other fine 4yo Tim’s A Trooper, which is a crying shame because given his development over the past 6 months Tim is actually a […]

Or is it something different or more? Take Fletch Maguire […]
I simply could not believe my eyes when Catch a Wave blew out from $1.30 to $2.10 in the 3rd race at Melton last night. It was like I had gone to sleep and woken up in Paradise City. Sure it had been beaten first-up last start, but these things happen when you are being […]
The Stewards report somewhat understates what happened in race 6 at Redcliffe on Wednesday, and the role of the Clerk of the Course in averting what could quite easily have been a catastrophe. Torque in Motion was drawn the pole. It’s bit broke just as the starter was about to let the field go, and […]
The latest is that after Aimee Edmonds unsuccessfully pointed the blame at former stable Stonewall training partner for the positive swab to what we can now confirm is bute thrown by one of their h0rses, they are now blaming the person who mixes the feed. Apparently Steve and Jill Stockman are going to issue a […]
About 3 weeks ago we gave you a steer into how good the 2yo colt The Bigboss was, and suggested that the Nutrien Equine Classic final would be a 2 horse race between he and the Kyle Marshall trained bot Smoken Ace. Two Top Shelf 2YO Pacers Emerge Out of the Nutrien Sale Well Smoken […]
