Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
There are two TAB thoroughbred meetings being run this week in Central Queensland. One is on Tuesday at Mackay, the other is on Friday at Rockhampton. Both are provincial race meetings. They each carry the same prizemoney. But there is one big difference, and it is an absolutely inexplicable one. The Rockhampton meeting is restricted […]
What the hell is a VIT? How come one of them is on the Steward’s Panel? Why is that person Brad Tamer, the Head of Customer Experience at the QLD branch of the TAB, and its number 3 man? Isn’t having a bookie as a Steward somewhat more than a little bit off? And rather […]
Queensland’s thoroughbred Chief Steward Peter Chadwick doesn’t seem to know which way is up. The official Steward’s Report states clearly that jockey Nathan Day was disqualified for 9 months in relation to the ‘incident’ that occurred at Callaghan Park involving the Clerk of the Scales. Disqualification means that Day cannot participate in the racing industry […]
These clerical errors just keep on happening under Chief Steward (Darling Downs) Clayton ‘Crayons’ Warren’s watch. Yesterday we told you about the four mistakes at Toowoomba on Saturday night. Today we tell you about the two at Chinchilla on Monday, the very next meeting held in the district. Crayons has got the race to race […]
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Stewards today concluded an inquiry into outstanding Police charges brought against Mr David Reynolds. Stewards took submissions from Mr Reynolds as well as his solicitor in relation to the nature and specifics of the charges and after considering all the evidence and the situation in its entirety Stewards, acting under […]
Clayton ‘Crayons’ Warren is the best Steward this side of somewhere, although I am not sure where. Probably Muckadilla Siding. There were four clerical errors in six races at Toowoomba on Saturday night. They were announced via on-course semaphore address, although nobody heard it because no-one was there. Crayons put it up on social media […]
We don’t keep writing about QLD racing steward’s stuff-ups because we are mean girls. We write about them because they keep happening. How does this one work? The QRIC have altered the result of a race six weeks after it happened. After all the bets have been incorrectly paid, and the punters have been ripped […]
A reader sent this to us in response to our story about Nathan Day being handed down a 9-month disqualification for reasons unknown It’s checked and correct. —————————————————————————- N Day provided money to Wally Welburn (clerk of the scales) and Trent Williams (racecourse manager) for unknown reasons, but noting that Wally has been well known […]
The thoroughbred Stewards in fives States and two Territories in Australia put their race day reports up after the last race. Not in Queensland. There hasn’t been a Stewards Report from the gallops published since Thursday. It can’t be system outage because the trots reports have gone up since then. Do you reckon the QRIC […]
Isn’t is ironic that the man employed by the Queensland Racing Integrity Commissioner as the ‘independent’ internal reviewer – the one person appeal court – who determines whether convicted wrong doers sentences are sufficient, is a sinner himself? Kane Ashby is his name. The punting jockey in the story. The same man who would have […]
