Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
This is the Stewards Report from the race at Balaklava in SA on Wednesday afternoon where the stipes ordered that the race be started despite a horse being cast under the stalls. It’s become apparent that our information about a reindeer was wrong, and we apologise to those concerned for our error, and any reputational […]
Santa and the reindeer brothers grim What happened yesterday when the Stewards allowed a race to start while a distressed horse was lying stricken on the ground stuck under the gates was an outrage, an absolute disgrace. They did it because the race was running real late, and they didn’t want to lose their spot […]
Nothing should surprise you anymore when it comes to racing integrity in QLD under the watch of Chief Steward Chadwick, but still for us true believers they do. A ten race TAB card was run at Rockhampton last Thursday. It was the only meeting on in Queensland that day. Rockhampton is renowned as a hotbed […]
Jockey Alex Patis rode in races 2 and 4 at Toowoomba on Saturday night. Then, for reasons not described in the Stewards Report, was unable to ride in race 6. No other rider was available to take her mount on Ms Minelli in that race – or so we are told – and as a […]
Do you remember I told you the other day that someone from the gambling regulation authorities should have a real close look at who won all those $100 000 and $250 000 tipping comps that then CEO and Managing Director Todd Buckingham used to run at his bookmaking company TopBetta. At this moment in time the Doomben track for Cup day is rated a Heavy 8. People who have walked it this morning suggest that it is a whole lot worse. The sky is enveloped by clouds, and it’s pissing down rain. All week the BOM said it was going to. Why the hell haven’t […]
You all know about Chainsaw Yole, the Tasmanian trot trainer who regularly turns out more than half the runners on the card at meetings down there. Well Queensland, bugger Ben Yole. We’ve got our own big numbers trainer up here near the Isa, and she is a whole lot nicer than Chainsaw too. Tanya Parry […]
Queensland’s racing stewards are the finest in the world. They employ their resources well too. In Your Element was the horse we told you about earlier in the week that missed the start by a dozen lengths, caught up to the field, circled them and won. Our boys and girls in the QRIC badges looked […]
The to nominate, accept and race in the $105 000 plus $30 000 Northern Jewels handicap being run at Townsville on Friday a horse has to be QTIS registered. The eligibility rule is plain and clear, written in black and white on the Racing Queensland website, and in the race calendar (Race Magazine) published by […]
