Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
How the hell does this work? On Monday last week bush trainer Mark Oates accidentally left a lead bag out of the saddle of one of his runners at a bush meeting at Longreach, and the QRIC fine him $1000. The following Sunday at the Sunshine Coast leading trainer Tony Gollan’s stable foreman Craig Cavanough […]
A punter who consumed two “bags”of cocaine in a matter of hours at the races has sensationally claimed he is behind a failed drug test for a Mark Currie-trained sprinter, throwing the high-profile case wide open. In a stewards’ inquiry on Wednesday, Nigel Soden submitted a statutory declaration saying he petted the Currie-trained End Assembly […]
In the stuff up of all stuff ups, betting on Saturday’s new $4 million WA slot race the Quokka was this afternoon suspended pending an inquiry into irregularities with the barrier draw. It turns out what happened is that midway through the draw Uncommon James barrier was by mistake called out as Massimo’s, and all […]
Illegal performance enhancing drugs have no place in Irish racing and breeding industries. In particular, the Task Force supports the position of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities that the use of anabolic steroids should not be permitted in or out of competition. Keep looking Joe. We are too. One thing that seems to have flown under the radar on Saturday is the appalling performances of the trio of Joseph O’Brien runners. His three runners weren’t bad, they were awful. Baron Samedi had great staying form in Europe and in the USA. He had won the Vintage Crop […]
I know he pulled up lame, but you have to ask yourself the question. Did Ciaron Maher put Gold Trip in the race to hook the weights for his stablemate Explosive Jack? It is hard to escape the conclusion when you look at the facts. Explosive Jack was a triple Derby winner in the 2021 […]
Remember those stories we wrote a few weeks back about the Stewards in QLD who were hauling in trainers for bringing bottles of tomato sauce to the races to whack on their sizzled sausages? The ones in which the stipes were claiming that the trainers with the sauce bottles were in possession of an instrument […]
You’d love to view the high priced contract between Racing QLD and Regional Cast wouldn’t you? Does it say that the company can broadcast whatever country non-TAB meetings they like, and ignore all the rest? Or that it can only show the punters a few of the ones left over live, and whack the replays […]
