Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
You’d love to view the high priced contract between Racing QLD and Regional Cast wouldn’t you? Does it say that the company can broadcast whatever country non-TAB meetings they like, and ignore all the rest? Or that it can only show the punters a few of the ones left over live, and whack the replays […]
There are 12 race meetings being held in Queensland today. Twelve. What are the chances of their being enough jockeys to ride all the declared runners at them? Um, zero. What’s the hope that all the horses that do have jockeys are ridden at their handicap weight? Um, zero. What sort of nous and common […]
These are the fees paid to board members of Racing Queensland. Below that are the salaries paid to the top executives of the organisation. I make no comment either way, other than to say two things. There are far more things of interest to some people in racing than the horses. And it’s a nice […]
I think I must be missing something here. Racing QLD are paying airfares, accommodation, meals and allowance for 10 woman drivers to travel to and from their bases in NSW, VIC, TAS, SA and WA for a Team Teal fundraising series. The cost of the above is a conservative $20 grand, and probably more. A […]
The inside mail from the Deagon bunker is that Jason Scott is about to be appointed to the position as CEO of Racing QLD. It amazes those of us who knew him as Les Scott back in the days when he was a commission agent at Harold Park for the controversial racing identity and professional […]

But we are not so sure anymore, for on the evidence before us it seems that […]
This is the cover page of a feature story about Toowoomba trainer Tony Sears in this month’s edition of Racing Queensland’s ‘Race’ Magazine. My mail suggests that RQ may at sometime before the end of the year come to regret their slavish praise of Sears. I’m not to going to tell you why right now. […]
Archie I have just been told from good source that the Brisbane Racing Club has determined that as of next month a number of small trainers at Deagon’s leases won’t be renewed, These trainers were told in the past get out of the stables in the side streets of Deagon and move into the stables […]

This is retiring Racing QLD CEO Brendan ‘Pins’ Parnell at the very start of his career. Oh how young we all were. Pins tips weren’t much good. Shaftesbury Avenue got beaten into 5th. Noel’s Gamble ran 8th. Shustar ran 9th. I can’t help you with the Caloundra result. Pins tip in Sydney raced in the […]
