Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
What can you do but cry? The poor kid. He was only going for a swim on a warm night. I blame the Gold Coast Council. How many deaths now have there been at night on that beach? None of them from the local area. Those of us who lived around Brisbane and the Goldie […]
The claimant alleges that during the race the defendant rode negligently or contrary to the rules of racing that caused his horse to fall. It is our case that the manner in which you rode at this point in the race was dangerous to the extreme Lord Edward Faulkes QC, representing the applicant, now wheelchair […]
Koalas are protected species in NSW. So is jockey Tommy Berry. Berry breaches the whip rules at almost every meeting that he rides. In fact over the past month he has broken the rules on average 1.6 times at every race meeting he has ridden. He gets away with it with impunity, which means scot […]

There is a huge problem in regional Queensland with the current shortage of jockeys. Everyone knows it, but no-one wants to fix it, or alternatively they don’t know how. Only 6 jockeys turned up to ride at the Mt Isa meeting yesterday. As a result 6 horses on the 6 race card had to be […]
After a long, self-enforced absence from the race track during which he is believed to have worked out in the mines, and a period of mourning following the loss of his Dad, jockey Michael Murphy is back in the saddle. Not quite with a bang yet – Murphy has had five rides in then past […]
