Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
It is with great sadness and through a river of tear that I share the terrible news that QLD racehorse trainer Glen Baker has lost his brave battle with cancer, and passed away last night. Glen was a very popular man in racing and beyond, and for very good reason. He was a great bloke […]
It is important to remember that proceedings such as these are not penal in nature. Unlike penalties in criminal cases where concepts such as retribution, denunciation and rehabilitation are of importance, civil penalties such as these are imposed primarily, if not solely, for the purposes of deterrence – Racing Appeals Panel* The Stewards inquiry into […]
Everyone is talking about the ride of James McDonald on Via Sistina to win the Cox Plate and rightly so, for it was a super steer that won the mare the race. Mark Zahra rode the perfect race on Buckaroo too, following J-Mac throughout the race and hooking around Via Sistina in plenty of time […]
How often do you see a 2-year-old pacer in a Group 1 classic attacked mercilessly in front and forced to run four sub-28 seconds quarters and still somehow manage to win the race? Not very often is the answer. Which makes what the Brad Hewitt trained Hollywood Strip did last night in taking out the […]
Blondeau the horse’s better performed namesake the fashion model Thylane Blondeau Blondeau was once upon a time a very promising young galloper. At just its second lifetime start the then Chris Waller trained gelding finished second to King’s Legacy in the B.J. McLachlan, then two starts later if finished 3rd to Farnan and Tagaloa in […]
We were saddened to hear this morning of the passing of former Central Coast starter and long-time racing man Rex Kelly. I never met Mr. Kelly but heard his named mentioned by race callers so many times over the years that it felt like he was an old friend. He was a great servant to […]
Kiwi import Fitzroy was the heavily backed favorite to win the last race at Albion Park, and with very good reason too for the 2YO had been racing highly competitively against elite company in group class races in New Zealand, and there weren’t any top shelf black type pacers lining up in this race. Punters […]
I don’t know who this Joel West that posted this rubbish is, but the bloke’s a clown. Ryan Maloney didn’t ride the favorite Royal Mover dead. He gave it a peach of a steer. Sure he didn’t pull the whip on it but what would have been the point? You could see that the horse […]
Tres Manifique means most magnificent. The luck of the horse by the same name in race 3 at the Valley wasn’t magnificent. It was tres bloody awful. Everything that could go wrong did. First it misses the start. Then Ben Melham stands over Tres Magnifique’s rider Mark Zahra and slams him onto the fence. The […]
If Larry goes ordinary again maybe Grant should try the Oscar Bonavova treatment……… Let him cover a few mares and he might get his competitive spirit back! Belle from Burnie https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2147988558714708 ———————— Editor’s note It worked for Bling It On so why not? Mr Seymour has enough mares that he can spare Leap To Fame […]
