Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Excuse my language, but how the fuck can you race a horse just two weeks after it has suffered from a lung infection? It’s insane. What are they going to treat with to get it back so soon? I will tell you. Airway openers. They don’t fix the damage caused by the infection, but they […]
This is race 7 at the Mildura Trots on Friday night. The leader in this race and the one on it’s back are $13 in the betting. Both are trained by Ashleigh Markham. He drives the leader. The horse in the death is the $1.25 favourite. Markham puts on a suicidal pace in front, running […]
What you see above is what Lochinvar Art’s driver Leigh Sutton told the HRV Stewards when asked about his drive on the horse that set the race up for Nathan Jack and Copy That on Saturday night. The first bit is true. Sutton didn’t start serving it up to the leader and favourite Bondi Lockdown […]
The contenders for the job of CEO of Harness Racing Victoria appear to have been whittled down to three. Acting CEO Fiona Mellor is the long odds on favourite. She was put into the role of Chief Commercial Officer to prepare her for the big seat, and she would have to rob a bank not […]
Mark Pitt was driving a horse named Polly Put Kettleon in race 8 at Bendigo last night. It was drawn the inside of the 2nd row, with a likely leader in front of it. Anyone in the world who was in Polly’s cart would have pushed up at the start to get it’s back. Not […]
The Stewards have some major questions about the race won in scintillating fashion by Captain Ravishing at Bendigo on Friday night. They want to know why driver Allan McDonough took the winner’s $151 stablemate out of the single file from last after the field had found their places, but only went as far as he […]
Nathan Jack, driver of Copy That NZ ($4.60), was questioned regarding the performance of the horse which finished in 8th placing beaten 22m. Mr Jack advised that the early use made of Copy That NZ had taken its toll over the concluding stages, as it did on other runners which contested the early lead. Mr […]
The Andrews Labor Government is helping to grow the harness racing industry by boosting the number of owners and breeders. Through the Labor Government’s Victorian Racing Industry Fund $1.42 million will enable Harness Racing Victoria’s (HRV) Vicbred Platinum Scheme to encourage breeding, racing and ownership of Victorian horses, with HRV matching the investment. There are currently more […]
Harness Racing Victoria appears to wish not to take or return our calls. Oh well, I guess we have never needed them before, why do we need them now? Tabcorp has bailed out of the sponsorship of ID 22. I guess they are just following the lead of the Integrity Manager, the CEO, the top […]
Now we are told that HRV is set to post a substantial loss in it’s soon to be released Annual Report. $6.5 million is the figure that we have been given. Perhaps the Ladies aren’t the only ones in Red. I wish they’d hurry up and call back so that we can get confirmation or […]
