Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Better Eclipse won the Group 1 Chariots Of Fire at Menangle last night, and gains an automatic entry into the Miracle Mile. It shouldn’t have, for Better Eclipse has got a past. A real shady one too. Craig Hoban used to train the horse. He lost his licence at the end of a glass pipe […]
Alright. Watch this. You are looking at the horse on the inside, the one in the maroon and white. Jack ‘Turbo’ Trainor is it’s driver. Watch his foot. And while you are doing so, ask yourself whether horses deserve to be kicked hard to make them run faster, or least as fast as they can […]
I would smile like the Cheshire Cat too if I had accidentally stumbled upon the golden cross. In fact, I do, because I did. How lucky is Darrel Graham who I used to play footy against as a kid, and reunited with later in life? How lucky am I? In 4-legged harness racing the golden […]
I am writing because I can’t speak. I am sitting here stunned. Shocked. The leader in the Group 1 Chariots of Fire, the Victorian pacer Bettor Call Me, has just run 24.3 seconds for its first quarter mile. 24.3 SECONDS! It is the fastest quarter ever run by a pacer in the history of world […]
Mark Jones comes from a long line of royalty in New Zealand harness racing, although you would never know it. His grandfathers Derek Jones and Reg Stockdale, and his father Peter Jones are legends of the game. Jones’s cousins Anthony and Tim Butt are too. The difference between cousin 1 and Jones though is that […]
David Moran and Laura Crossland were defacto partners in 2019. Damian Wilson was cutting his lunch. Crossland said sayonara to Moran, and moved in with Wilson. Moran was not happy at all. On the 14th of November he got juiced up and moonshine and rocked around to Crossland’s stables in the Shepparton Training Centre blind. […]
Watch John Dunn cheat at the start in the last race at Addington tonight. He did it right under the Stewards noses too. Everyone is supposed to start off the same mark off the stand. Lurch clearly took a fly. How was A Bettor Act not disqualified? The stipes must have been staring up at […]
Young Jack Brown didn’t drive at the Young trot meeting on Thursday night. Nathan Turnbull did. He breached the whip rule too. Turnbull was sentenced on the basis of Brown’s previous record. Me thinks he might have grounds for appeal.
