Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The well known Sydney harness racing family the McDowell’s are no slouches when it comes to the training game. The family have won a host of Group 1 and other group and listed races with their horses over the years, including all the juvenile features across two states with their champion filly of the 1980’s […]
Keith’s on a roll. Good on him too. I love it, even if the folk from the Canterbury Plains don’t. What would they know about great Australian racing anyway? Blood hell, they eat fishing bait (whitebait) and reckons it’s beautiful. Yeah, prawns heads are too I’m sure, not that I’ve ever tried them or ever […]
We’ve been out of action for a few days helping racing licensees at disciplinary tribunals, so Keith from QLD has stepped into the breach to give us a hand. Here’s his latest offering. With some mighty races coming up I wanted to reminisce about some magnificent achievements that made me love this sport as much […]
Graham Dwyer is a gun Queensland trot trainer who ran 4th in the State Premiership championship last year with a win rate of about one in every eight starters from over 850 that he took to the track. Dwyer rarely steers them these days though. In 2022 he drove just 44 times, and won just […]

Summit Bloodstock won 4 races at last night’s Hobart Cup meeting, including the big one. Three of them were very recent NZ imports trained by Emma Stewart. I wanna know how she did it. Ben Yole also trained one of Summit’s winners. I wanna know how he did it too. Here are the winners and […]
Jason Grimson has been racing a team in Victoria since the 25th of November. He has started eight horses since that time. All bar three have won. Those two are Majestic Cruiser which ran as a tired horse in the heats of ID22; Sicario, which ran a close second in the Group 2 Bendigo Cup […]
Driver Michael Stanley is believed to be in hospital tonight with a suspected kidney injury. It is believed – but not confirmed – that the injury was incurred when the winner of the race Major Meister, through no fault of it’s driver’s, ran up the back of the cart of Rock N Roll Doo in […]
BENDIGO Race 5 no 8 – Ollivici The inside of the 2nd row draw makes it tough, but the rising start of the Victorian trotting ranks is good enough to overcome it. The ideal scenario is that I’m Ready Jet holds and he lands on the leaders back, but if he ends up 3 fence […]
A couple of days ago we tipped you to get on the crock Sicario when it hit the track in Jumping Jason Grimson’s colours. I hope you were quick, because the money has come early and the money has come hard. We’re still 18 hours from start time in the Group 2 Bendigo Cup, and […]
