Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Jack Callaghan’s was the drive of the race, not that of Grant Dixon. Callaghan sucked Dixon into doing exactly what he wanted him to do. Just when it looked as if Dixon was for sure going forward, Callaghan offered him the easy option of a nice spot in the line. It was a bit like […]
Here’s an idea on how they can “salvage” the QHTC stuff up. Racing Queensland buys out the Motorplex and builds the racing part of the centre there, including whatever community facilities that get suggested, and possibly the van/camping/cabin facilities on that block as well. Don’t know about Queensland weather but the existing track plan on […]
There is something severely wrong with the ancient ‘state of the art’ track at training centre at Byford in Western Australia. Two horses that we know of have died there in the past fortnight, although the good mail is that the real number is three. That’s just in the past month. We know of at least […]
JUST when it looked like all was lost for harness racing in Queensland to claw back a lost generation of fans, a ‘gift horse’ has arrived that promises to reignite interest in the sport. It seems rather ironic that the couple who has done more to save the code in the Sunshine State – Kevin […]
We have been very critical of Grant ‘Moses’ Dixon’s driving on this site, and have even gone as far as issuing calls for Kevin AM to pull rank and sack his trainer from the cart in big Group 1’s. I was wrong. Yes, you did stuff up by not going to Auckland earlier for a […]
At the tender age of just 21 or 22 – I am not sure which – ‘Happy’ Jack Callaghan is already the 2nd best harness race driver in the land, and he is improving by the day. He proved at Albion Park last night with his drive on Spirit of St Louis in the Sunshine […]
Watch this video at the bottom. Keep your eyes on Turb0, aka Jack Trainor the driver of I Cast No Shadow, the horse in the maroon and white colors. Turbo has got Leap To Fame his back, The reason that the champ is there is because Trainor has hooked out in front of him on […]
Well you can’t argue with that can you? The McMullen clan had 4 runners in the race named after their late grandfather J.C. (John) McMullen, otherwise known as Hollywood. They scored the quinella. In fact they ran 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th, with only Hes Charlies Angel splitting them. Fittingly the winner was trained by […]
Dear Industry On behalf of HRSA I’m pleased to advise TAB market share for Harness Racing in South Australia will increase this financial year (FY24) for the first time in almost a decade. The new rate of market share is 8.248% (up from 6.906%) which equates to 19.432% growth Year on Year (YoY). This represents […]
It’s wonderful to hear that harness racing’s share of TAB revenue has increased from 6.9% to 8.2%, especially given the moron that they’ve got running the joint. I don’t know if it says more about the skills of the tr0t boss Best Wishes Dean, or about the ineptitude of the folk in charge of other […]
