Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
For a long time there I was a lone voice in the wilderness shouting about how Sharp ‘N’ Smart was a champion, and it took until Saturday for the ‘experts’ in the mainstream media to wake up and realise that I was telling the truth. Now they have they are all over him, with some […]
This is my wife Maggie’s great-grandfather, Herbert Charles Cull, aka Aiden De Brune, a once famous Australian author. From 1921 to 1924 he spent two years walking around Australia, becoming the first person ever to do so in the process. In 1920 he was working as a journalist at the Bunbury Herald when suddenly he […]
I always wanted to be tough. Boxing didn’t do it. Tatts didn’t do it. Homelessness didn’t do it, or living on bet drunk bones of my arse for years. Not even incarceration did. But now, thanks to the Sport of Stings, I have made it. What the punt taketh away, the punt gives back in […]
One of the curious anomalies with the betting markets on Jockey and Driver Challenges is that there are no deductions applied for scratchings. What I mean by that is if you back a horse to win a race at evens and it is pulled out at the barrier you cop massive deductions off the face […]
We come to race 8 at Gloucester Park last night. The favourite is 2-1 on in the old parlance, or $1.50 in today’s language. A horse named Alcippes Delight, who was drawn on the outside of the back row, was backed from $13.00 into $4.80 to beat it. One guess who owns Alcippes Delight, or […]
Well Sportsfans, if you followed our expert judgement like the Doc did, you’d be as rich as Croesus after Sharp ‘N’ Smart’s outstanding victory in the rescheduled Gloaming Stakes today. The Doc is, and I would be too, if only they didn’t have hurdle races on late at night in the post-coital hours at the […]
Praise the lord that the Spring Champion Stakes was postponed on Saturday, for there was no way that our long range tip Sharp ‘N’ Smart could gave possibly won on that crazy sit on the rail, leader biased track. For a moment there a group of us who had been backing the budding superstar in […]
Archie Why are the underlined stats taken from the form on the new TAB app randomly dumped at bizarre intervals as you go down the page? For example, why aren’t sire and dam together? Why isn’t the win strike rate next to the place? How come Heavy track form isn’t listed with form on the […]
Entain breaks Tabcorp monopoly on NSW pubs and clubs Entain, one of the world’s largest wagering companies, has struck a blow against local rival Tabcorp by clinching a sponsorship and promotion deal for its Ladbrokes and Neds brands in 1800 pubs and clubs across NSW. While Tabcorp’s TAB brand will maintain its retail betting outlets […]
The ‘Aussie Fair Play Coalition’ was a crock of crap from the start. It is not really a coalition at all. Tabcorp own, run and fund it 100 percent. The so called coalition partners are the pubs and clubs who came on board because they receive commissions from bets through their pub TAB terminals, and […]
