Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
I have no idea what was behind this assault at Rockhampton yesterday. All I know is that the bloke with the weapon J. Stephens is clearly either crazy brave or insane attacking trainer R. Vale, who is twice his size. And that Ricky Vale was far more restrained than I would have been if I […]
Jimmy and Heidi with pretty boy Floyd and even prettier Hallie. A nicer family you could never hope to meet. The blazing hot run of form of Queensland’s most gentlemanly jockey James Orman continued on Sunday afternoon when the Orminator kicked home 4 winners and a 2nd at Corbould Park on the Sunshine Coast from […]
Suspensions: Race 8. J. Kah – AR131(a) – careless riding – 13 days. From midnight 11th June 2022 until midnight 24th June 2022. I am totally confused. Did Jamie get suspended in the Stradbroke or did Craig Williams? If it was J. Kah, then why was Williams advised of his right to an internal review? […]
Have you ever seen a bigger run in your life than Alligator Blood yesterday in the BRC Sprint? The Alligator was stuck four-wide the trip from the wide barrier, was never travelling, should by rights have been gone on the turn, and yet somehow he still managed to pick up and sweep down the outside […]
How can it possibly take six years to conduct and conclude what should have been a relatively simple Stewards Inquiry into a horse throwing a positive swab? I don’t care how many excuses about delays and unavailable witnesses that the stipes throw up, that is just duck shoving. No inquiry should take this long, and […]
Take a look at this interference the horse on the outside causes. It wins by about a length and a bit. The Stewards dismissed the protest lodged by the rider of the second horse, on the grounds that the winning margin was bigger than the interference caused. How the hell would they know? The 2nd […]
The word from the track is that Political Debate, the favourite for the Group 1 J. J. Atkins tomorrow at Eagle Farm, has soreness issues and is under a veterinary cloud. Apparently the Waller trained 2YO has been vetted today and will be vetted again in the morning prior to being passed fit to run. […]
Don’t be too concerned about Alligator Blood’s 17 draw in the Straddie after the scratchings. Six of the past twenty-one winners have come from barrier 15 or wider. Two winners in the 21st century have come from the extreme outside in 18 (Show A Heart, La Montagna), one has won from 17 (St Basil), two […]
Thangool is a two pub town with a primary school, a post office, a servo, an aerodrome, and a population of 741, about the same as Lancaster Rd that runs along the entrance to Eagle Farm, or maybe a little less. It’s also got a really good racetrack, one of the best in the district, […]
Almost $1 million in taxpayers’ money has been wasted on upgrades to an outback Queensland racetrack that remains unusable. The Central Warrego Race Club in Charleville was one of many regional racing organisations to receive track upgrade funding from the state government as part of the Country Racing Program. Bush racing is a beloved part of the […]
