Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
A lot of people want to tell you that James McDonald is the best rider in the world, and sometimes it is true. Today wasn’t one of them. What the hell was J-Mac doing letting J. Mott on the rank outsider push he and Via Sistina 3-wide early? McDonald had the rights to the position […]
Amy Graham. She is the poor woman who was with Chris Caserta when he drowned. It is not known when the video was taken, or why the hell she allowed it to be filmed, but it looks to be relatively recent. Anyone able to zoom in enough on the calendar will be able to tell […]
Is this who I think it is snorting coke in the video below? A prominent but troubled QLD jockey who has had addiction problems in the past but told the press a couple of years ago that they were clean? It doesn’t look like they are too clean here does it? Oh dear.
We’re here at the Racing Appeals Panel this morning for Noel Callow’s appeal against his 10 month disqualification on two charges of conduct detrimental to the interests of racing related to the incidents in Darwin last year that were recorded on video and later surfaced on social media, after it is rumored former jockey Group […]
Callow’s barrister Stirling kicks off by saying that there is no argument that racism is wrong and totally unacceptable, and that his client acknowledges and accepts this. His client accepts that he behaved foolishly, offensively and in a racist and gratuitous manner toward people he did not know on the street. Stirling says that Callow’s […]
I can assure you from my own knowledge and experience of Jim Murdoch KC that he is a thoroughly good and decent human being, but gee if he was of a different bent he would have made an outstanding interrogator for the Stasi. Slowly and methodically he is twisting Callow in knots and tearing him […]
The Panel plays the offending video recordings. There is much argument about whether the transcript of the recordings is correct, with Stirling disputing that his client ever called anyone the highly offensive term “nigger’ and the recording clearly appearing to back him up. Stirling submits that Callow’s conduct was spur of the moment stupidity, not […]
Painting hung on peterprofit.com office wall Murdoch KC makes a concession, one clearly designed to overcome submissions made by Matthew Stirling that it would take Noel Callow another 2 months after his disqualification ended to get fully race fit so that he could again start earning what he did before the spell. The Magic Man […]
Here are some quotes from the Stewards when sentencing jockey Taylor Marshall to a 9-month disqualification for doctoring his annual Health Assessment Report. They are worth reading to understand why it is so important that a proper assessment of a riders fitness to compete is undertaken each year, and why jockeys who have submitted altered […]
What you see at the top and above are notices that the Queensland branch of the Australian Jockeys Association sent out to its members late last week. Panic stations have set in among the ranks of local riders. The QRIC are auditing all Health Assessment Reports that have been submitted by jockeys. As we told […]
