Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Pete McMullen claims that he felt Turn It Up only challenged his horse Aardie’s Flash for a short distance after the first turn. McMullen was correct, it did. But what about the heated challenge for the first 200 or 300m when Noddy took on the fastest beginner in QLD and held him out, running a […]
I got so excited about the prospect of the gun young up and coming kid Tasymn Potter kicking home a winner for Andy Gath on Outlaw Man at her metropolitan driving debut at Melton tonight that I forget to tell you that she had a second steer too. That one was in race 4, when […]
After steering home 25 winners from her first 240 drives at the provincials, 22-year-old Kyalla horsewoman Tasmyn Potter makes her debut on the big stage in a couple of hours when hops in the cart for her fist metropolitan drive on Outlaw Man in race 1 at Melton. It’s a fitting start in two ways […]
New Zealand harness racing is quite distinct from that in Australia, in that the Kiwis put on races restricted to amateur drivers at TAB meetings, whereas over the ditch the amateurs are confined to driving in non-TAB races at the carnivals and shows, which given their skill levels – and with no knock to any […]
Jack Callaghan slaughtered Spirit Of St Louis in the Nullarbor last week by not handing up to Hot And Treacherous, and last night in the Fremantle Cup he pulled a similar kill job on that horse in reverse. Happy Jack obviously hadn’t done his form properly, and didn’t realise that if Pinny Tiger got to […]
GENERAL Reinsperson Ken Rogers stood down under R250(3) pending the analysis of the saliva sample taken after his initial saliva test was reported as non-negative. As reported on the night repeat offender Kenny ‘The Gambler’ Rogers has thrown another positive swab to meth. He rolled the dice on not getting caught, and lost. Addiction is […]
Take a look at this race 4 at Cambridge last night and tell me that Maurice McKendry on the horse in the green and white colours was trying to beat the winner. I don’t think so. McKendry was trying to get it beaten so that the unofficial stablemate and favorite driven by the octogenarian Dr […]
Ellen Tormey did a George Moore by blowing the whistle and never having to go around horse until the straight in race 5 at Mildura last night. Don’t you wish you could be this lucky with every horse you backed that firmed from $12.00 into $4.00? True Mildura style.
It’s said that Cameron Hart was far from happy with Jack Callaghan after the Nullarbor last night, with the issue bering that Callaghan on Spirit of St Louis wouldn’t hand up the lead to Hot And Treacherous when Cam Hart pressured him to. Well bully for Cam. The winner of the past 4 NSW drivers […]
Brendan Barnes drove the $1.70 favorite Promising in the 4th race at Albion Park on Saturday night. Drove it like a lunatic straight to destruction. Barnes took Promising straight to the death off the gate, but at no stage did he have a dig for the lead. The lead time was run in a flying […]
