Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Archie, Billy and other trainers should be overjoyed about Tanya Parry turning up with her 31 starters for the Isa’s big Thursday Rodeo Race Meeting . Take her horses out and you’re left with 2 × 2 horse races, 2 × 3 horse races , a 4 horse race and a 5 horse race. Yep, […]
Julia Creek trainer Tanya Parry turned out 31 of the 50 runners at yesterday’s Mt Isa race meeting, but her sheer weight of numbers didn’t translate to much success. The only rwo winner on the card that she trained was in the first race, in which she had every horse in the field, and the […]
We have written on many occasions about the long-term dangers posed to racing in QLD’s country north-west by one trainer – Tanya Parry – holding such a numerical dominance in racing in the region by virtue of the sheer number of tried, failed and recycled horses she accumulates cheaply from all over the place without […]
Baldy at Swan Hill. Our sources couldn’t get the internet coverage to send us photos from Tambo. I’m here and I’m there, I’m Big Bad Baldy, I’m everywhere – Sugarhill Gang, Rappers Delight Australia’s best loved and most mobile on-course punter and Zjelko mounting ring man Baldy – aka David Frolley – popped up again […]

Most QLD race fans favorite caller Josh Fleming will return to the broadcast box this year to call the Birdsville Cup carnival, and we join with everyone else in welcoming him back. Not only is Josh a great race caller, but he is a passionate promoter of the sport and an all round good guy […]
Racing QLD has announced that a number of upcoming country meetings have been converted from non-TAB to TAB programs. This can only be a good thing, as by drawing wagering revenue from previously non-earning meetings there is more money to go around for everyone. It also means we punters can get a bet on bush […]
Some people bemoan the money spent on non-TAB country meetings, and claim that its a waste of money. Those who turned out for the meeting at Esk in QLD yesterday disagreed. Just take a look at the crowd. There were more people at the country race day than there were at Caulfield or Eagle Farm. […]
Archie Just got back from the Jundah Camels. At the start of Race 1 a old battler came over with a board with 200 squares on it numbered 1 to 200. “I’m raising money for Shane McGovern’s partner” he said. “Square numbers $10 each and you win a gorilla if your numbers drawn”. “Give me […]
