Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
In the past 118 years, only two sides that finished outside the top 4 have ever won the NRL Grand Final. One was the Broncos in 1993 who had a team list that read O’Neill, Carne, Johns, Renouf, Hancock, Walters, Langer, Matterson, Cann, Gillmeister, Hohn, Kerrod Walters, Lazarus, with Gee, Ryan and Plath on the […]
Alinghi won the Blue Diamond in her 2YO season in 2003. Then she won the Thousand Guineas in her 3YO season in 2004. And the next year she won the Sangster Stakes and the Newmarket in her 4YO season in 2005. Between 2005 and 2007 Darci Brahma won the JJ Atkins as a 2YO, the […]
I am expecting Alligator Blood to be given the green light to race in the Victorian spring carnival, starting with next Saturday’s Group 1 Memsie Stakes where Damien Oliver is poised to ride. The situation isn’t quite resolved but I understand a change of ownership, with colourful owner Allan Endresz potentially selling his share in the […]
Do you remember us telling you a few weeks ago that My Ultimate Jacko was the buy of the century for $40 000 at the very poorly catalogued APG Mixed Sale, which did neither he or his vendors any justice at all? Well Jacko had his first start for new owners Chainsaw Yole and his […]
Jack ‘Turbo’ Trainor had runners in the second race at Menangle last night. One was the $1.25 favourite Braeview Kelly, which he drove. The other were the $10 proposition Jeradas Delight driven by Cameron Hart, and the $14 shot BK Swy which was driven by Turbo’s junior driver Jack Brown. Braeview Kelly had raced twice […]
You can’t argue with numbers. Here are the number of pre-race swabs taken at the three major metropolitan meetings held on the eastern coast of Australia yesterday. No, this is not a mistake. Not ours anyway. Randwick – 37 The Valley – 25 Doomben – 5 QLD Chief Steward Peter Chadwick chaired the panel at […]
Catch A Wave is an A Gath trained three year old pacer that many claim is the best of his age in the land. I personally disagree, for I believe that Leap To Fame is, but either way Catch A Wave is very, very good, as most horses that have won 9 out of their […]
Toby and Trent Edmonds are very smart trainers. They have this smart young three-year-old gelding called Cool ‘N’ Ready. His owners picked him up for just $50 000 at the 2021 Magic Millions sale. Unlike his sire Better Than Ready, the real short distances aren’t this bloke’s go. 1200m – 1400m is his range. Cool […]
The WA Stewards took just 7 pre-race swabs at Belmont yesterday. They were all in the same race. It was race 5. This race was just an ordinary affair with nothing special special about it, except for one thing. There were 8 starters. One of the horses didn’t get swabbed. It was the favourite Crescent […]
MELTON Race 9 No 10 – Montana Flash Here’s one at a huge price out of the Chainsaw Yole barn. Get on early at the big odds is my recommendation. RESULT We almost got a collect at $7.00 the place. Got trapped 4 back the fence and ran a very unlucky fourth. I don’t think […]
