Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
This is that Noah Rose bloke I told you about a few months ago. The worm who happily accepts bet for the more than his so claimed payout limit, but won’t pay them. We knocked him over for $17 grand that was due and owing. It looks like Racing Victoria have given him a boot […]
This is not good, for either horse or rider. The horse is dead. Gossiping Girl was her name. The Official Stewards Report says that she had a heart attack on the home turn, and was found by the vet to be dead on arrival. I am not quite sure where she was arriving, or how […]
Can anyone tell me how Adam Sanderson – who was 3 back the fence in the white with maroon – could have safely moved from the rail into the moving line? Sure he could have pushed out, but is that something that was in the best interests of the driver outside him? I doubt it. […]
Seven hundred and eighty-eight Standardbred pacers competing in 8378 races at one racetrack were analysed to determine the effects of the administration of prerace frusemide on racing times (RT). Frusemide was administered i.v. 4 h before the race to pacers diagnosed with exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH). Of the pacers, starting in the 1997 racing season, […]
The last race in Cairns is the Rebecca Conlan Benchmark BM 58. It is named after a good sort (see picture at top). Number 8. Kim Alicia. She is owned by a good sort named Helen Yeates (see below). Isabella Teh (below) is a good sort. She rides her. I am a misogynist, or at […]
What a sad post for me. The boots have been hung up due to a forced retirement through injury. After the last accident at Grafton at the end of March, when a horse reared over and landed on me inside the starting gates, my body has just decided it isn’t wanting to play the game […]
Port Au Prince was a cat in New Zealand. It won bugger all in snail’s crawl time. 3 from 35, two of them at Invercargill, one at Ascot Park. Never ran a final winning half in under 58 seconds. Total prizemoney from those 35 starts? $32 079. It comes across the Tasman to Robbie Morris. […]

Watch the prick one from the outside in the yellow cap flog his horse. His name is Colin Lennon. He hits this horse 14 times, all before the […]
Menangle today. Race 5. Number 9. Nick of Time. $3.20 right now. Get on quick.
John Leek is, to say it as nicely as you can, a racecourse character. A rogue and a villain, but by no means an all round bad bloke, if you like that sort of thing. That sort of thing being cobalt, milkshakes, jiggers and a whole lot more. He is a bloody good trainer when […]
