Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
This is a comment from a reader about the Oracle’s earlier story It was not whether Nintendo was right or not about Jack Callaghan’s drive on Spirit of St Louis in the Nullarbor. That’s a matter of personal opinion. It’s the way it was done. He abused Jack in front of everyone after the Nullarbor, […]
This is the slo-mo of the critical part of Noel Callow’s ride in race 1 at the Gold Coast that has led to his license being suspended under a provision of the rules that doesn’t allow such a suspension to be imposed. It looks pretty reckless on this angle. Below is the slo-mo from the […]
We have it on excellent authority that Ben Yole Racing did not have workers compensation cover for his young workers involved in the tragic car accident in January 2023. In the State of Tasmania workers are covered under the Safe Work Tasmania Workers Compensation insurance scheme when they are working. That is, working under or […]
Archie Credit where credit is due, Jack Callaghan knew giving SOSL a breather after the early burn was an opportunity for someone to come from the back, he was just looking for who. Would Nintendo Durnberger-Smith have preferred that had he just dropped his chin and nodded off? What if Chris Lewis ( driver of […]
Many jockeys go a lifetime without ever riding 5 winners on a card. In fact most do. Five wins in a day is rare, very rare indeed. At the age of just 18 Bailey Wheeler did it yesterday at the Gold Coast. He landed the magic 5, and out of just 8 races too. Gee […]
It’s a good question isn’t it? You have read the rule at the top. There is nothing ambiguous about it. If a jockey has been charged with a rule breach or a crime, and the Stewards believe (on reasonable grounds) that the hoop poses an unacceptable risk to racing, then the officials have the right […]
RACE 9 – TABTOUCH THE NULLARBOR (2536MS) MAGNIFICENT STORM (A Cortopassi) – Driver A Cortopassi was interviewed in relation to his tactics in remaining in a one-wide position in the front straight to receive the bell and not shifting to a three-wide position prior to being covered by LAVRA JOE (C Lewis). Mr Cortopassi explained […]
What are you looking at Jackemup Jack? Or better put, who are you looking for? The talk of the trot town today is Summit Bloodstock’s spic-in-chief Jamie Durnberger-Smith’s (Nintendo DS) monumental blow up at Spirit of St Louis driver Jack Callaghan immediately after the Nullarbor. Apparently the root cause of the explosion is Nintendo was […]
Personally, I think the two big races were a huge success. One attracted possibly the best field of the year and one had the best from the west plus a couple of pretty good horses. Ok the NZ was decided in the first 100m but that’s the draw and Old Town Road had to take […]
This mate of mine wants to buy some meat from Magnificent Storm’s owner Rob Tomlinson’s company Regency Foods, but he can’t work out how to do it. My mate also wants to hire Rob Tomlinson’s firm Regency Catering to do look after the food and grog at his daughter’s 18th birthday party in June, but […]
