Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Gold Trip will have to rewrite history if he is to carry 58.5kb to win the Caulfield Cup on Saturday, for no horse in the modern metric age has ever lumped that much to victory in the time honoured race. Since the weight scale switched from stone and pounds to kilos in 1972 the highest […]
The news that Captain Ravishing isn’t going to New Zealand f0r the Cup after his scratching last night comes as no surprise to anyone. The Captain copped a 28 day stand down after his withdrawal, which means that he can’t race again until the 11th of November, 3 days before the Cup, meaning that he […]
It would be lovely to believe that the Auckland Trotting Club really had made a profit of almost a million dollars for the year, but sadly it didn’t. EBITDA means earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization. After those things were factored in the club actually lost $6.78 million. The club’s asset base dipped by […]
If we were to put together a ‘power rankings’ of horse racing’s most influential figures, then Hong Kong Jockey Club boss Winfried Engelbrect-Bresges and his Racing NSW counterpart Peter V’landys would fill the quinella places. Melham – who posted the picture on Twitter – certainly seems to think so, and it makes […]
What a lovely lady this is, not. I wonder if she kicks dogs too? What compels an adult woman to do something like this? https://t.co/foblVaitks — Women Posting L’s (@WomenPostingLs) October 15, 2023
We stand corrected in our criticism of the abandonment of the Ashburton race meeting on Sunday, after a reader has brought to our attention that it was not the state of the track that caused the races to be called off, but rather 200km winds that ripped through the Canterbury region, making in dangerously unsafe […]
