Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
The Group 2 James Brennan Memorial for open class pacers at Gloucester Park on Friday night attracted a full field of 12, making it the first FFA race with more than half a dozen runners for months. Before you get too excited about the sudden upsurge in interest in racing at the top level in […]
Prior to All Clear, the Co-Trainer of the second placed TURN THE PAGE NZ G Bond requested to view the photo finish image and he also subsequently lodged a protest against the first placed AUGUST MOON, alleging that the driver of the filly, G Hall Jnr used his whip in contravention of R156 (2)(a) in […]
Why do seemingly healthy 5YO horses suddenly drop dead on the track in races and training? How come the vast majority of the deceased that do come from major stables? It’s probably a question best directed to those involved, but personally the name Santa Anita keeps running through my head. The Summit Bloodstock owned Chicago […]

The decision has been forced on the association by the realisation […]
Talk about deflection and what a load of crap. Yes there are scientific papers that confirm inconsistent surfaces, and who knows how Oliveris and Young’s home tracks on private property really are, increase the risk of injury, soft tissue injury. There are more scientific papers that confirm that hard surfaces such as the Byford fast […]
Archie In regards to your story about the horse deaths at the Byford training complex in WA. Have you seen Ross Olivieri’s track? It’s inconsistent as hell. Inconsistency is the biggest contributing factor when it comes to injury’s on tracks. As for Michael Young’s mare Eight Carat, have you seen its last few race starts? […]
