Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
We wrote the story above 4 months ago, and the one below 2 months before that. Meet Mr Nobody – Western Queenland’s Newest Trainer Well the good news is that the question has finally been answered. Trainer Terry Hall, formerly of Cloncurry, has taken over all the horses that NSW trainer Brett Cavanough supposedly trained […]
The unconfirmed rumor from around the Brisbane track is that Toowoomba based horseman Lindsay Hatch (pictured above) is giving away training in his own right. Hatch is said to be going to take up a role as stable foreman for his great mate Tony Gollan at the Gold Coast. It is not known when the […]
Brisbane trainer Lindsay Gough is never going to win a premiership, because he doesn’t have the numbers and probably doesn’t want then, But gee he knows how land a plunge. Gough has to one of the best old-fashioned money trainers in the business. When the cash comes for one of his horses they usually win. […]
It’s bloody amazing isn’t it? Jason Grimson has only 26 horses in work, and among them are three of the fastest twenty ever to race over the mile at Menangle – Rakero Rocket (1.47.3), Himynameisjeffn (1.48.4), and Swayzee (1.48.6) – another who no doubt will shortly be joining them in Captains Mistress (1.50.0), and a […]
Constantina is a 9-year-old mare that coming into the 1st race at Newcastle on Friday night had raced 143 times and won 17 of them. The fastest of them was in 1.54.1. But that was before Super Seaton Grima got hold of the old girl. He did a couple of weeks ago. Last night Constantina […]

Archie The only people who didn’t see that Scarlett Moda was dead as a maggot last start at Tolga in January were the QRIC stewards. Marty from Malanda Editor’s Note I am not quite sure about that myself. But is was a rather odd ride.
A few months ago Joans Rising Star was running a long last in a 2-4 win pace at Redcliffe. That was before she was sent to Super Seaton Grima to train. Now she is winning races in 1.50.2, and running second in Group 1’s beating Eye Keep Smiling, who almost won the Len Smiile. Seaton […]
If Jason Grimson is not the greatest trainer in the world, then who is? “He’s a drug cheating bastard”, I hear you cry. “Don’t call him great”. Sorry, I have to. Grimson’s never been caught for anything major other punting, and that was because he’s a desperate, a pulsie as they call then in TAB’s […]
