Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Helium – the former Kiwi pacer who a fortnight ago broke Sweet Lou’s track record at Sciota Downs running 1.46.8 for the mile, in the process raising such a level of suspicion about drug cheating that a ban was placed on accepting nominations from its trainers the Nobles – has reappeared at the Dayton trots […]
I know there was probably nothing in it, and that she can’t help who she is related to or that her horse is a hard pulling mutt, but if you didn’t know these things like a lot of punters don’t, then gee Dannielle McMullen’s drive on the favorite Im Boo in race 5 at Albion […]
Fate Awaits started $1.35 from gate 1 in the tenth race at Albion Park last night. He got beaten. I blame Grant Dixon for that. Dixon drove the fave out hard from gate 2 with an average beginner inside it, but Final Deadline from out in the deep began faster, and one Fate Awaits reached […]
The Ryan Hryhorec trained seven-year-old pacer Lord Zarias didn’t just break the 2530m track record at Port Pirie last night, he smashed it into smithereens. The previous mark over the staying trip was 1.58.4 Lord Zarias ran 1.56.7. That’s about 20 meters faster. Driver Gaita Pullicino reeled off splits of 29.2, 29.7. 27.4 and 29.1 […]
Chris Barsby must be on leave because last night we had Chook Fowler going back to the future and calling the Albion Park trots, and now we have Terry Spargo going even further back in time to call tonight’s meeting. The problem is that Spargo wasn’t calling them from the on-course broadcast box, but instead […]
Trent Lethaby and Taleah McMullen (pictured) A bit of excitement was injected into an otherwise quiet Thursday afternoon at the Creek yesterday when a stoush erupted between the connections of the beaten favorite Manifest The Billi (aka ‘pass the bong’) after the running of the first race. We weren’t there and don’t know anyone who […]
We wrote last week about the extraordinary improvement of former NZ pacer Helium since it was sent to America and the stable of husband-and-wife team of Dan and Christi Noble, a pair who if they aren’t brazen drug cheats must be the greatest trainers of any code ever to live. Nah scrap that last bit […]
Archie, Just a FYI if you do your research you will actually find that Jason Grimson’s 1st ever G1 winner was a 2YO called Don’t Think Twice .so he is barely an amateur at training young horses. He achieved the highest achievement well before tried horses come along Cheers Billy Burns from Booroowa Editor’s note: […]
Archie How good was it to see Grimmo get that elusive 2yo victory? It only took a nearly quarter million dollar purchase and a 3/4 brother to the best pacer Australia has produced! Cheers, Kenny from King Island Editor’s note – Kenny is referring of course to Leap To Fame. His mother and the dam […]
In an occurrence as rare as Halley’s Comet, NSW’s leading trainer Jason Grimson has finally trained a 2-year-old winner. Grimson rarely plays in the juvenile pond so hasn’t made many attempts at winning with a youngster in the past, but he proved with the win of the Glen Holland bred, Mick Boots owned Bettorleftalone at […]
