Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Russell Jack knows a thing or two about training a harness horse too, what with winning Group 1 races against the Emma Stewart machine and all. He did pretty well with Hi Mynameisjeff, winning 7 races from 18 starts with him after picking him up from the stables of small time trainer Rod Coelli a […]
Queensland’s new premier Smiles announced a review of the Olympic construction tasks on taking office, which was due to be delivered 60 days later. Racing Minister Grace Grace has the responsibility for it now, and I can’t see Albion Park closing without Norwell being built first, but not moving and not building it is maybe […]
You would have sworn that Cyril Small was driving the leader in the first race at Busselton last night, if only it had been a gallops race not a pace, and the horse had been called Vo Rogue. It wasn’t though, it was called Delightable, and the driver was Trent Wheeler not the great man […]
Want a tip for free? Back every horse that Emma Stewart or Clayton Tonkin start up until her appeal against the 6 month DQ is heard. This pair are doing what is called making hay while the sun shines, which is Aussie trot language means winning as much money as they can while they can, […]
‘Bookie’ Ben Krahe was given an inside run to become the sole bookmaker at Albion Park through his friendship with and close association to certain controversial figures associated with the club, some of whom were seen together cavorting at the recent Inter Dominion series. I won’t name these controversial figures due to the risk of […]
This is an extract of the financials from the most recent annual report of the Gloucester Park Harness Racing Club, the biggest trot operator in the state of Western Australia. As would appear obvious from the numbers, the club lost almost $400 000 last year. How did they do it? Well the obvious answer is […]
The Penrith paceway copped no more that 9 mm of rain prior to the scheduled time for the 1st race at the track last night, about a third of an inch. That’s not enough rain for force a meeting to be called off. But it was. The track was unsafe to race on. Penrith’s seven […]
If the mail floating around in trot circles is correct the Queensland Harness Centre of Excellence looks like it might have died a natural death before it even came to life. It seems that the Queensland Government is running short of cash and can’t stump up the $120 odd million required to construct the much […]
Just take a look at the start of this first race at the trots at the Otaki-Maori track at the Kapiti Coast today will you? A horse all but falls in the score up, and the starter misses it all. He declares it a start. I didn’t know Stevie Wonder was in New Zealand working […]
Archie I hate to spoil your story, but it’s wrong. Now the real story behind no Yole horses at Scottsdale. Kent Rattray is Vice President of the NEPC (Scottsdale). Kent appeared on the ABC original story along with Janet Ainscow. Both parties received legal documents suing us them for defamation over what they said in […]
