Well known Gawler harness racing owner Paul Cormack, a great supporter of the trots, passed away last week after a long and brave fight against illness. His death has been felt by the many in harness racing who loved him, and he will be sadly missed in the sport. Paul’s funeral will be held next […]
Popular South Australian harness racing identity Joe Carbone (pictured), a businessman and former prominent trainer, and later owner of good horses like Tact Hayley’s Delight and Major Lincoln, is in a bad way in the ICU right now after suffering a serious medical incident earlier this week. It’s not good news, but Joe’s been there […]
Vaughn Newman is a small time licensed South Australian trainer who lives just a couple of streets from Globe Derby, where to date he has been working his horses. He was doing exactly that 4 weeks ago when he noticed that the surface of the track was to his mind sub-standard, and detrimental to the […]
The Emma Stewart stable sent a team down to South Australia this week to contest the heats of the SA Derby and SA Pacing and Trotting Cups, but unlike in previous years they didn’t send one of their own drivers down with them, preferring instead to let Gaita Pullicino handle their horses. Just last week we told you about Fletch Maguire, the walker from Kiwiland who came to OZ and improved by half the length of the strait. The once weak gutted cat from Aotearoa improved even more in the space of the past 7 days. Kiwi Horses That Suddenly Grow Legs – Summit and Bain Would […]
Race 8 Globe Derby. Six horse field. The market opens with Cyclone S Adams $1.90. It blows out the door to $3.30. Uncle Louis is $2.70. It drifts to $3.20. Hurricane Ed is $4.80. There is a little bit of dough for it but not much, and it lands at $3.70 at the jump. Magic […]
