Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Everyone is raving about Coolangatta’s performance at Doomben today, and the bookies have wound the filly into $1.80 to win the Magic Millions on the back of it. It looks to be a very weak batch of Magic Millions contenders this year, but I am still not sure about the hype on this Maher/Eustace youngster, […]
Yes Ladies and Gentleman, the big event of the year is upon us. No, not New Year’s Eve. That’s small beer in the big picture. What we are talking about here is huge. Massive. Ginormous as my 4-year-old would say. It’s the day that voting for the All Star Mile field opens. The 24th of […]
This weird incident involving a horse getting it’s leg stuck in the cart of a galloper in front of it happened at Alexandra Park in May. I stumbled across it tonight while researching a piece about something else. There are two interesting stories that came out of the race. One is that the galloping horse […]
Justin Fung, son of Hong Kong Tony. This bloke looks like he can run a $500 million racing empire doesn’t he? And elephants can climb trees. Oh, by the way, this is where his Dad was going to build an international port, and a world class casino. Michael King is another bloke that we have […]
Channel 7 is broadcasting Thrill of the Chase again … and advertisers aren’t happy. Ads are being placed during the program without the knowledge of companies. They are filler ads, decided by the TV station not by the advertiser. Once they’re informed, advertisers are quick to distance themselves from this industry spin program and greyhound […]
Uncle George and Aunty Dawn on their wedding day. Maureen Garrard (Angus’s Grandma), her sister Aunty Karen Shea and my Dad were in the bridal party. The 15 people Australia wide involved in the vegan activist group Coalition For the Protection of Greyhounds (CPG) are earnest, but not very bright. What you see above […]
Well hasn’t it been a hell of a weekend in the COVID Vax Stakes at the tracks around Queensland? We’ve had the State’s leading race caller out of the box (the good news on that front is that the reports are that Josh Fleming is getting the jab this week), we’ve had some jockeys allowed […]
So this is the Greens plan. Shut down racing. Turn all race courses into parks. Rehabilitate all race horses. (From what? Are they meth heads, junkies, drunks or sex addicts? Even the geldings?) Rehome all the horses who have been to rehab. Retrain: jockeyswork riders stable hands strappers stewards starters swabbies barrier attendants clerks of […]
I think we might have seen the last Alligator Blood, or if all was fair in love, war and racing we should have anyway. The Alligator was terrible in the listed Loch Neagh today, absolutely atrocious. Baylee Nothdurft gave him a great run on the leaders back, and for about a tenth of a second […]
QCAT CLEARS DAY – GOODNIGHT SOON TO FOLLOW The decision has not been published yet, but the hot mail is that in yet another outstanding demonstration of why it is being giving the big P.O., the QCAT has overturned Nathan ‘Grubby’ Day;s six week suspension for pulling up Helsun at Doomben in January almost two […]
