Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Campbell Rawiller is a Melbourne-based apprentice who is indentured to trainer Logan McGill. From March to June last year Rawiller spent three months in Sydney on loan to trainer Gai Waterhouse improving his experience and skills, but he returned to Victoria at the end of the loan period, and has been riding there since. I was talking to mate over email tonight and the subject of Shane Loone came up. For those not familiar with the name or the sport, Loone is a lifelong cheat who is afflicted by a rapacious form of cancer, and is unlikely to see ID25. It hasn’t slowed him down though, for over the […]

This attendant was originally rostered to work at the Gatton meeting, but was redeployed to Doomben when race day officials became aware that the main metropolitan meeting did not have […]
A rumour is swirling around that there were no swab attendants at the TAB meeting at Gatton in Queensland today. It seems that the senior race day official who a couple of weeks ago ordered an employee who was awaiting their COVID test result to come to work has been ordered to pull her head […]
Now it comes on the spring of 1931, after a long hard winter, and times are very tough indeed, what with the stock market going all to pieces, and banks busting right and left, and the law getting very nasty about this and that, and one thing and another, and many citizens of this town […]
This Oakbank stoush over jumps racing is a beauty. Let me explain it for you in simple terms. Successive South Australian governments have pandered to the loony fringe of vegans and porn actors who want to ban all types of racing, and aimed at low hanging fruit by trying to knock out the jumps first.
